Hello everyone in the Pinmapple community! Today I bring a special publication, because this time I come to let you know what my experience was visiting the emblematic "Gold & Silver Shop" in Las Vegas, best known for being the pawn shop that starred in the reality show " The Price of History", on the History Channel. This place was one of the many tourist sites that I wanted to visit and what, if you are also in the city and you like everything about the collections of old and new objects, it is a point to take into account and that you should know. Even more so if you are a true fan of the series. So join me on this wonderful journey.

"Gold & Silver Shop" was founded by Richard Harrison in 1981, with the intention of transforming this small space into a family business dedicated to the sale and purchase of various items. Above all, they specialized in the acquisition of ancient objects of great value. Something that many of the family members shared; the love for objects with history. Many of you probably already know that context, however it is important to point out because at first the business had simpler purposes (pawning, selling and collecting), it was during 2009, when they offered the family to star in their own reality show for the television, which would go from being a small family business to being a tourist site.

El día de hoy traigo una publicación especial, pues esta vez vengo para darles a conocer lo que fue mí experiencia conociendo el emblemático "Gold & Silver Shop" en Las Vegas, mejor conocido por ser la casa de empeños que protagonizó el reality show el "El Precio de la Historia", en el canal de History Channel. Este lugar era uno de los muchos sitios turísticos que deseaba conocer y qué, sí tú también estás en la ciudad y te gusta todo sobre las colecciones de objetos antiguos y nuevos, es un punto a tener en cuenta y que debes conocer. Más aún sí eres un auténtico fanático de la serie. Así que acompáñame en este maravilloso recorrido.

"Gold & Silver Shop" fue fundado por Richard Harrison en 1981, con la intención de transformar este pequeño espacio en un negocio familiar dedicado a la venta y compra de artículos varios. Sobre todo, se especializaron en la adquisición de aquellos objetos antiguos de gran valor. Cosa que muchos de los miembros de la familia compartían; el amor por los objetos con historia. Muchos de ustedes seguramente ya conocen ese contexto, sin embargo es importante señalarlo pue en un inicio el negocio tenía fines más sencillos (empeñar, vender y coleccionar), fue durante el 2009, cuando le ofrecieron a la familia protagonizar su propio reality show para la televisión, que pasarían de ser un pequeño negocio familiar a ser un sitio turístico.

Among the objects that we can find are paintings (Dali, Matisse, Picasso, Miró), autographs, movie/series scripts, posters, stills from series/movies, music records (CD's, Vinyls, Cassettes) of all kinds, flannels of athletes, athletes' rings, war objects, jewelry, etc. A discovery that is impressive to find in this unique corner of the world. From my perspective, the site also functions as a small history museum where we can see a very varied collection that has something for all tastes. It's ironic how not only is the collection they have of great value, but the site itself is actually valuable. Even the owners of the place enjoy great fame and acceptance inside and outside of Las Vegas.

You can find the pawn shop at 713 S Las Vegas Boulevard, close to what is the old center of Las Vegas and what is the Strip, so it is relatively easy to find them. Of course, one thing to take into account is that if your dream is to meet Rick, Chumlee, Corey or some of the cast members of the series (taking into account that Richard, "the Old Man" passed away some time ago), it is It is unlikely that you will find them there because they rarely visit the business and you can imagine why (they are capable of delegating business tasks to enjoy their own fruits). However, that does not mean that from time to time they do not come to the place or you can find them nearby.

Dentro de los objetos que podremos encontrar están pinturas (Dali, Matisse, Picasso, Miró) autógrafos, guiones de películas/series, afiches, fotogramas de series/películas, discos (CD's, Vinilos, Cassettes) de música de todo tipo, franelas de deportistas, anillos de deportistas, objetos de guerra, joyería, etc. Un hallazgo que resulta impresionante encontrar en este único rincón del mundo. Desde mi perspectiva, el sitio funciona también cómo un pequeño museo de historia dónde podremos contemplar una colección muy variada que da para todos los gustos. Es irónico cómo no solo la colección que poseen pesa de un gran valor, sino que por sí mismo el sitio es realmente valioso. Incluso los dueños del lugar gozan de una gran fama y aceptación dentro y fuera de Las Vegas.

Podrán encontrar la casa de empeño en la 713 S Las Vegas Boulevard, cerca de lo que es el antiguo centro de Las Vegas y lo que es el Strip, por lo que es relativamente sencillo dar con ellos. Eso sí, una cosa a tomar en cuenta es que sí tú ilusión es conocer a Rick, Chumlee, Corey o algunos de los miembros del elenco de la serie (tomando en cuenta que Richard, "el Viejo" falleció hace un tiempo), es poco probable que los encuentres allí pues pocas veces visitan el negocio y ya te imaginarás porqué (son capaces de poder delegar las tareas del negocio para disfrutar de sus propios frutos). Sin embargo, eso no significa que de vez en cuando no acudan al lugar o los puedas encontrar en las cercanías.

It was very exciting for me to learn about this business because when I was little I watched the series and I was fascinated by the stories behind each article they presented day after day. Some are unusual, some are weird and wonderful, and some are just amazing. My favorite items were the scripts from the movie "Scared Face" and the signatures of the protagonists, in addition to the collection of Picasso paintings, the collaboration between Dalí and Disney (a beauty) and Matisse. Para mí fue muy emocionante conocerte este negocio pues de pequeña veía la serie y me fascinaban las historias detras de cada artículo que presentaban día tras día. Unos son inusuales, otros raros y maravillosos y algunos más son simplemente increíbles.
