This is my last Christmas cover of the season. For that reason, I picked up my favorite aguinaldo from all the ones that exist in the Venezuelan repertoire. It's very special but also kind of rare. The original version was made for choir.

"Esta Bella Noche" is a song about family and the essence of Christmas. It was composed by Luis Eduardo Galián. And it was one of the first pieces I learned when I started in the choir. Also, it's the very first piece I ever conducted when I was learning about that. Truth be told, that was a very weird experience. As I was playing the cuatro, the conductor pulled me from the side to the front of the choir and then went off walking somewhere else. I had to pick up the whole song from that point, but did my best. The acoustics of the place were horrible. I'll never forget it.

So whenever Christmas comes, this song starts playing in my head. This year I thought about making a cover soloist style for this song. Here's my take on my favorite aguinaldo.

Este es mi último cover navideño por esta temporada. Por eso, elegí mi aguinaldo favorito de entre todos los que existen en el repertorio venezolano. Es muy especial y también poco conocido. La versión original del tema está hecha para coro.

Se titula "Esta Bella Noche", es una canción sobre la familia y la navidad. Su compositor es Luis Eduardo Galián. Esta fue una de las primeras canciones que aprendí al comenzar en el coro. Además, fue la primera canción que tuve que dirigir cuando estaba aprendiendo sobre eso. La experience de hacerlo fue una sorpresa. Estaba acompañando el tema con el cuatro y el director me movió de mi lugar hasta el frente del coro y luego se fue a otro lugar. Tuve que tomar la pieza desde ese punto. Lo hice aunque la acústica del lugar era horrible y no sabía nada sobre dirigir un coro. Nunca se me va a olvidar.

Así que siempre que llega la navidad, esta canción suena en mi cabeza. Este año se me ocurrió hacer un cover en estilo de cuatro solista. Así que aquí tienen mi aguinaldo favorito.
