My journey to CRU Peusangan, Bener Meriah, Aceh, Indonesia

A few days ago I had the opportunity to visit one of the Conservation Response Unit [CRU] located in the Peusangan Watershed, Redelong, Bener Meriah, Aceh Province.

There is a breeding place for Sumatran Elephants as herding wild elephants who descend into residential areas and residents' plantations.

This is so that conflicts between elephants and humans can be avoided because the Sumatran Elephant is one of the protected animals in the world that is starting to become endangered.

I found myself watching Arjuna, Rahmad and another female elephant guarding wild elephants at the Pintu Rime Gayo [Pintu Rimba Gayo]

This is a very valuable opportunity, to be there with the Sumatran elephants is extraordinary, even though I traveled 1OO kilometer to reach the conservation area, the results I got were not in vain. The following is a video of me and Rahmad, a Sumatran elephant taught by Mahout [Pawang] as guardian of the conflict between elephants and humans. Have a good time watching.

Beberapa hari yang lalu saya berkesempatan mengunjungi salah satu Conservation Response Unit [CRU] yang berada di DAS Peusangan, Redelong, Bener Meriah, Provinsi Aceh.

Disana adalah sebuah tempat penangkaran Gajah Sumatera sebagai penggiring gajah-gajah liar yang turun ke kawasan pemukiman dan perkebunan warga.

Hal ini supaya konflik gajah dan manusia dapat dihindari, dikarenakan Gajah Sumatera adalah salah satu satwa yang dilindungi di dunia yang mulai terancam punah keberadaannya

Saya menyempatkan diri menyaksikan Arjuna, Rahmad dan seekor gajah betina lainnya yang menjadi penjaga gajah-gajah liar di pintu rime gayo [Pintu Rimba Gayo]

Ini sebuah kesempatan yang sangat berharga, berada disana bersama-gajah-gajah sumatera sangat luar biasa, meski menempuh perjalanan sejauh 1OO kilometer untuk mencapai kawasan konservasi tersebut, hasil yang saya dapatkan tidak sia-sia. Berikut cuplikan video saya bersama Rahmad, seekor gajah sumatera yang didik Mahout [Pawang] sebagai penjaga konflik antara gajah dan manusia. selamat menyaksikan.
