Saludos a toda la terrorífica comunidad de Zona de Escalofrío, hoy vengo a participar de la gran iniciativa de abril: Mes de las Sirenas.

Un tema interesante, diferente, controvertido y hasta mágico. El tratamiento de este tema por la antigüedad, la mitología creo ha sido sólo de manera metafórica o simbólica.

Por ello vayamos a responder las preguntas que se han planteado.

Greetings to all the terrifying community of Zona de Escalofrío, today I come to participate in the great initiative of April: Mermaids Month.

An interesting, different, controversial and even magical topic. The treatment of this topic by antiquity, mythology I believe, has been only metaphorical or symbolic.

So let's answer the questions that have been posed.

Siendo que los mares no han sido explorados ni en una mínima parte, lo cual hace que esconda muchas sorpresas, creo totalmente que existen las sirenas. Existen muchas fosas marinas profundas y especies adaptadas a las mismas.

Por otra parte, rumores y documentales hablan de ellas, aunque con un concepto muy distinto de la mitología antigua.

Since the seas have not been explored to the slightest extent, which hides many surprises, I fully believe that mermaids exist. There are many deep sea trenches and species adapted to them.

On the other hand, rumours and documentaries talk about them, although with a very different concept from ancient mythology.

En realidad, creo las sirenas son una raza o una especie por lo que habría su masculino y femenino y no sólo las últimas. Ahora si consideramos sólo a estas, creo que al igual que las mujeres pudieran con su voz seducir a los hombres.

Pienso que el tono del sonido que emiten o la frecuencia de su lenguaje pudiera atraer a la raza humana, por ejemplo, con motivo de alimento, pescando humanos, pero puede que en realidad no fuera la intención atraerlos sino sólo comunicación entre ellas.

Actually, I think mermaids are a race or a species, so there would be male and female mermaids and not only the latter. Now if we consider only the latter, I think that just like women they could with their voice seduce men.

I think that the tone of the sound they emit or the frequency of their language could attract the human race, for example, for food, fishing for humans, but it may not really be the intention to attract them but just communication between them.

Creo que lo primero que haría sería fotografiarla y guardar bien esas fotografías y si me es posible acercarme y mirarla muy bien de cerca o hasta comunicarme. Sería fascinante siendo un ser que la mayoría de la gente cree que no existe y preguntarle porque se esconden.

I think the first thing I would do would be to photograph it and keep those photographs and if possible approach it and look at it very closely or even communicate with it. It would be fascinating to be a being that most people think doesn't exist and ask them why they hide.

Creo que no se parecen en nada a lo que muestran las películas, no creo que estén tan marcados los rasgos femeninos, porque como dije antes, estaría la versión macho también.

Pienso que su cuerpo está adaptado al mar y a las grandes profundidades, para nadar velozmente y salvarse de sus depredadores, como los tiburones.

Tienen ojos más grandes que los seres humanos, en sus manos tienen las membranas entre sus dedos para poder nadar y un sistema de comunicación muy sofisticado como nosotros. Viven en comunidades, tal cual, como los humanos, pero debajo del mar.

I don't think they look anything like what the movies show, I don't think the female features are so pronounced, because as I said before, there would be the male version as well.

I think their bodies are adapted to the sea and the great depths, to swim fast and save themselves from predators, such as sharks.

They have bigger eyes than humans, they have the membranes between their fingers in their hands to be able to swim and a very sophisticated communication system like us. They live in communities, just like humans, but under the sea.

Personalmente no he visto ninguna sirena, pero si he visto videos caseros de gente que cree haberlas visto y hasta filmado sobre una roca. En esos casos ni bien se dan cuenta las sirenas que están siendo vistas huyen rápidamente al mar, se esconden del ser humano, pareciera les tienen miedo.

También muchos noticias y videos o fotografías de pescadores, que han atrapado entre sus redes una especie desconocida muy parecida a un ser humano, pero mitad pez.

Pero lo que más me ha llamado la atención es un documental que vi hace varios años sobre las sirenas que luego fue censurado, donde científicos, habían estudiado a una que unos pobladores habían encontrado muerta en la playa, luego les desaparecieron las pruebas y toda su investigación fue confiscada.

En este documental se daban detalles sobre comportamientos, se habían estudiado estructura, morfología, posibles hábitos y su relación con los delfines. Un documental muy interesante, una pena lo hayan censurado y tachado de falsedad con el fin de ocultarlo todo.

Tell us an anecdote or something terrifying about mermaids that you have seen.

Personally I haven't seen any mermaids, but I have seen home videos of people who think they have seen them and even filmed them on a rock. In those cases as soon as they realise the mermaids are being seen they quickly flee to the sea, they hide from humans, they seem to be afraid of them.

Also many news and videos or pictures of fishermen, who have caught in their nets an unknown species very similar to a human being, but half fish.

But what has most caught my attention is a documentary I saw several years ago about mermaids that was later censored, where scientists had studied a mermaid that some villagers had found dead on the beach, then the evidence disappeared and all their research was confiscated.

In this documentary they gave details about behaviour, they had studied structure, morphology, possible habits and their relationship with dolphins. A very interesting documentary, a pity it has been censored and branded as falsehood in order to hide everything.
