Whacktophia Program Day 5 | Performance [ESP-ENG]

Hace una semana que culminó el Whacktophia Program organizado por Musa, una semana llena de muchísimo aprendizaje y salir de esa zona de confort por medio del Whacking; y hoy, en este post, les contaré sobre el último día de esta increíble y bonita experiencia!

Al igual que en la clase anterior, no pude llegar a la hora justa, me perdí un poco de la explicación de lo correspondiente para ese día, pero literalmente fue la integración de todo lo visto durante el programa: drama, performance, permitirse, sentir, interactuar, improvisar y por supuesto, mucho whacking.

It's been a week since the Whacktophia Program organized by Musa ended, a week full of learning and getting out of that comfort zone through Whacking; and today, in this post, I will tell you about the last day of this incredible and beautiful experience!

As in the previous class, I couldn't arrive at the right time, so I missed a bit of the explanation of what was going to happen that day, but it was literally the integration of everything seen during the program: drama, performance, allowing, feeling, interacting, improvising and of course, a lot of whacking.

Sin embargo hay algo que caracterizó a ese último día, y fue el Shabadum. Esto no precisamente se escribe así, me atrevo a colocarlo porque así se lo escuché al profe; es como un anexo, un toque, o complemento que se le da al estilo; lo creó una persona a la que le dicen así, y aunque tuve la intención de investigar por internet al respecto y brindarles una mejor explicación, no conseguí nada, JAJAJ. Y creo que es algo no tan común de escuchar, al menos todavía, algo que le entendí al profe cuando estaba contando de su formación es que trajo ese conocimiento de afuera, de NYC, entrenando directamente con exponentes. Todo me es súper interesante y quedé encantada con toda la historia que hay detrás de cada detalle, pero esta vez les debo esa explicación más amplia:(.

Aunque, para que se queden con un concepto, eso en particular se trata de exagerar los movimientos, darles amplitud, pronunciar el pecho, por ejemplo; y cuando realmente se aplica, el baile si logra verse diferente, con más intención y significado. También lo caracteriza los Waves, movimientos con los brazos que hacen alusión a las olas del mar dentro de las coreos... todo esto lo pueden apreciar mejor en el video, que aunque no es el mejor en cuanto a ángulo y nitidez (cabe destacar que no lo pude grabar con mi teléfono por falta de almacenamiento), lo considero especial por resumir todo lo vivido durante esos tres días de formación, y simplemente quiero dejar el recuerdo aquí en nuestra bonita comunidad...

Me quedo sin duda con esa libertad de moverme, con haberme impulsado a hacer freestyle, que lo hermoso de eso y algo que nos recalcaron, es que en esos momentos no hay nada incorrecto, ni mal hecho, porque eres simplemente tu expresando lo que la música te haga sentir o lo que tu corazón desea en ese momento. Ciertamente habrán personas que interpreten de forma más fluída y tengan una mayor capacidad porque lo viven constantemente, pero yo me siento bastante satisfecha con mi desenvolvimiento en las clases, porque ME LO PERMITÍ, como todos los profes nos enfatizaban, aún cuando no estoy acostumbrada y sigo enfretando penas y cierto miedo escénico.

However, there is something that characterized that last day, and it was the Shabadum. This is not exactly written like that, I dare to put it because that is how I heard it from the teacher; it is like an annex, a touch, or complement that is given to the style; it was created by a person who is called that way, and although I had the intention of researching on the internet about it and give you a better explanation, I did not get anything, HAHAHAJ. And I think it is something not so common to hear, at least still, something I understood the teacher when he was telling about his training is that he brought that knowledge from outside, from NYC, training directly with exponents. Everything is super interesting to me and I was delighted with all the history behind every detail, but this time I owe you that more extensive explanation:(.

Although, to give you a concept, this in particular is about exaggerating the movements, giving them amplitude, pronouncing the chest, for example; and when it is really applied, the dance does look different, with more intention and meaning. It is also characterized by the Waves, movements with the arms that allude to the waves of the sea within the choreos ... all this can be better appreciated in the video, which although it is not the best in terms of angle and sharpness (note that I could not record it with my phone for lack of storage), I consider it special for summarizing everything experienced during those three days of training, and I just want to leave the memory here in our beautiful community...

I keep without a doubt that freedom to move, to have pushed me to do freestyle, that the beautiful thing about it and something that we emphasized, is that in those moments there is nothing wrong, or wrong done, because it's just you expressing what the music makes you feel or what your heart desires at that moment. Certainly there will be people who interpret more fluently and have a greater capacity because they live it constantly, but I feel quite satisfied with my performance in the classes, because I ALLOWED IT, as all the teachers emphasized to us, even though I am not used to it and I still face pain and some stage fright.

Esos tres días me sirvieron de motivación para continuar trabajando en mis performances, seguir conociéndome y explorando en este mundo tan bonito como lo es La Danza. Cada que vivo experiencias como estas me reafirmo que para esto nací, que no pude haber escogido una mejor carrera, y que amo profundamente mi arte... es inexplicable lo que se siente al bailar, es inexplicable la energía que se movió en esas clases; solo puedo decir, GRACIAS! Me disfruté muy plenamente cada segundo, y sin duda, siempre recordaré con mucho amor esa experiencia de haber aprendido del Teatro de la Calle, como dijo el profe Kenny al final de ese último día; cambió mi perspectiva ante muchas cosas el programa y simplemente, me inspiró... cúentame en los comentarios que tal te pareció toda la experiencia para interactuar un poquito. Those three days gave me the motivation to continue working on my performances, to keep getting to know myself and exploring this beautiful world of dance. Every time I live experiences like these I reaffirm that this is what I was born for, that I could not have chosen a better career, and that I deeply love my art... it is inexplicable what it feels like to dance, it is inexplicable the energy that moved in those classes; I can only say, THANK YOU! I fully enjoyed every second, and without a doubt, I will always remember with much love that experience of having learned from the Street Theater, as Kenny said at the end of that last day; it changed my perspective on many things the program and simply inspired me....
