El día de hoy vengo con esta pequeña historia de mi loro Arturo, es un pequeño lorito que hace algunos días me encontré en el frente de mi casa y hoy quiero compartirles parte de esta historia, ya que realmente he pasado a ser el cuidador de este pequeño animalito, así que les cuento cómo fue que de la noche a la mañana pasé a tener un lorito.

Today I come with this little story of my parrot Arturo, he is a little parrot that a few days ago I found in front of my house and today I want to share with you part of this story, since I have really become the caretaker of this little animal, so I tell you how it was that overnight I became a parrot.

Una noche cualquiera me encontraba cenando con mi esposa y en ese momento un muchacho se acerca a la puerta de mi casa y me pregunta si a mí se me había extraviado algún loro, a lo cual yo le respondí que no, ya que desde que estoy viviendo aquí en esta localidad no he tenido algún loro, a lo que el muchacho me hace conocer que había un loro al frente de mi casa debajo de un carro, ya que él venía en su moto y a orillas de la carretera vio caminando a un pequeño lorito, y este al sentir el ruido de la moto se escondió debajo de un carro. Yo salí a ver dónde estaba el lorito y en una conversación con el muchacho, él me dice que realmente no puede llevárselo porque no tiene tiempo para cuidarlo y por este motivo yo decidí quedarme con este lorito.

One night I was having dinner with my wife and at that moment a boy comes to the door of my house and asks me if I had lost a parrot, to which I replied that I had not, since I am living here in this town I have not had a parrot, To which the boy let me know that there was a parrot in front of my house under a car, since he was coming on his motorcycle and at the edge of the road he saw a little parrot walking, and when he felt the noise of the motorcycle he hid under a car. I went out to see where the parrot was and in a conversation with the boy, he told me that he really could not take it because he did not have time to take care of it and for this reason I decided to keep this parrot.

Antes de tomar esta decisión de quedarme con el loro recorrí algunas casas cercanas al lugar donde vivo para preguntarle a los vecinos si se les había perdido algún loro, porque mi intención realmente era devolverlo a la persona que en este caso se le hubiese extraviado, pero luego de que recorrí algunas casas ningún vecino me dijo o me manifestó ser dueño de aquel loro, así que me dije; me lo quedaré, y sí a mi casa llega el dueño con mucho gusto lo devolveré, si no yo me haré cargo de este lorito para que no quede en la calle y pueda que algún otro animal le haga daño o que algún vehículo lo mate ya que este lorito realmente no tiene las alas muy largas y al parecer ha estado todo el tiempo acostumbrado a estar o enjaulado o en una casa ya que cuando intenta volar no lo hace a una gran altura porque he evidenciado que se le dificulta.

Lo cierto es que con el paso de los días no apareció ningún dueño de este lorito entonces, hoy es la mascota en mi hogar a la cual estamos cuidando debidamente con toda la atención que requiere como lo es la alimentación un espacio donde él se sienta cómodo y todo ese tipo de cosas.

Para alimentarlo lo primeros días estuve dándole cambur o lo que en otros sitios se conoce como banano como por ejemplo aquí en Colombia, luego estuve preguntando que qué alimento era el ideal para este tipo de loritos, ya que fui a un lugar donde venden alimentos para todo tipo de animales o al menos los más comunes en los hogares, y la señora dueña del local me dijo que esta especie de loro come girasoles y cacahuates que es lo más habitual que ellos comen, tomando en cuenta la sugerencias de la persona que tiene mucha experiencia con tipos de aves y otros animales, procedí a comprarle cacahuate y posteriormente le comencé a comprar semillas de girasol y me parece que con estas se ha sentido un poco más cómodo o ha tenido un mejor apetito mi lorito Arturo.

The truth is that with the passing of the days no owner of this parrot appeared then, today it is the pet in my home to which we are taking care of properly with all the attention it requires such as food, a space where he feels comfortable and all that kind of things.

To feed him the first days I was giving him cambur or what in other places is known as banana as for example here in Colombia, then I was asking what food was ideal for this type of parrots, and I went to a place where they sell food for all types of animals or at least the most common in homes, and the lady owner of the place told me that this kind of parrot eats sunflowers and peanuts which is the most common that they eat, taking into account the suggestions of the person who has a lot of experience with types of birds and other animals, I proceeded to buy peanuts and later I started to buy sunflower seeds and it seems to me that with these my parrot Arturo has felt a little more comfortable or has had a better appetite.

Arturo ya prácticamente es parte de la familia, a mis sobrinos que son los que frecuentan mi hogar, les gusta mucho compartir con este lorito y realmente cuando él ve a los niños se emociona mucho, asumo que en el hogar anterior donde vivía quizás habían niños porque es impresionante ver cómo prácticamente es como que si el loro se entendiera con ellos.

Otra de las cosas que me gusta de Arturo, es que siempre me da un buen recibimiento cuando llego al trabajo ya que se me sube a mi hombro y le gusta que yo le haga caricias en el pescuezo, realmente me he sentido muy a gusto de haber tomado este lorito y no dejarlo en la calle bajo los riesgos que puede sufrir y brindarle toda mi atención.

Con esto concluyo parte de esta historia muchísimas gracias por su atención prestada.

Arturo is practically part of the family, my nephews who are the ones who frequent my home, like to share a lot with this parrot and really when he sees the children he gets very excited, I assume that in the previous home where he lived maybe there were children because it is impressive to see how practically it is as if the parrot understood with them.

Another thing I like about Arturo, is that he always gives me a good welcome when I get to work because he climbs on my shoulder and likes me to caress his neck, I have really felt very happy to have taken this parrot and not leave him in the street under the risks that he can suffer and give him all my attention.
