I've always considered myself to be the "glue that holds friendships together". It's a pretty big title but when I consider my group of friends in different locations and how different they are, I consider myself to be that link between all of them. Today was proof of how well I play my role.
During our days in Secondary School, I used to be the girl who couldn't stay comfortable in one class. So, while I was the friend of everyone in my 'Arts' class, I was friendly with everyone in the 'Science' class too.
During those years, I was able to own a spot in both classes by being the best in Art courses like Government, and also kicking ass in subjects like Biology and Maths. I got so crazy that during my last couple of months in school I was hell-bent on kicking ass in Physics as well, and I made a lot of progress if my parents hadn't shut down my desires.
Due to how academically versatile I was, I was able to blend into both classes and make long-lasting friendships. For this reason, whenever I decide to have an event, I easily call up people from both classes and I get people who could stay years without talking to have long conversations.
Yes, I'm that glue.
Sometimes, I get scared that I might get them together and there might be awkward silences but that never happens. They all tend to pick up on my energy and fill the entire place with laughter.
My Day 3 birthday celebration was a huge success. Although I feel like resting and taking a break from the activities, the girls have a game day planned for tomorrow. I'm still unsure about attending.
In 2 days, I'll be travelling to a different location to hang out with a couple of friends in that place as well. I can't wait to see how much more fun I can squeeze out of this week.
Female friendships can be very complicated, but I'm glad I've been able to make it work with these ladies.
Thanks for reading and watching
