    Zamuros en navidad

    Dos zamuros se han posado
en el poste de la luz,
    ambos vestidos de flux
    y de gomina peinados.
    Observan bien, lado a lado,
    con la mirada segura,
    con paciencia y sin premura,
    como quien hace un trabajo,
    mirando arriba y abajo
    buscando alguna zamura.

    Pero no son casanovas,
    donjuanes de pacotilla
se ve claro y a la milla
    que son muy buenas personas.
    Con educación de sobra,
    sin confiar en serendipias,
    van en busca, sin desidia,
    superando cualquier zanja
    a hallar su media naranja
    y conformar sus familias.

    A lo lejos dos zamuras
se ven volando en el cielo,
que como si fuera el pelo,
    se van peinando las plumas.
    Coqueteando van, seguras,
de que la belleza, el rito,
    es preciado requisito
    para conseguir pareja,
    dejar ya de ser solteras
    y tener sus zamuritos.

    Los zamuros enfluxados
    veloces se precipitan
    para concertar su cita
    con las chicas del peinado.
    Con modales educados
    y muy distinguido trato,
    sinceros y sin teatro,
    de simpatías un derroche
    se citaron en la noche,
    de diciembre el 24.

    Cupido, que es volador,
    tuvo fácil la jornada
    para acertar en la diana,
    esa que enciende el amor.
    La estrella con su fulgor
    disipó la oscuridad
    y les brindó claridad
    a esos romances tan puros
    que brotó en estos zamuros
    la noche de navidad.

    Vultures in Christmas

    Two vultures have perched
    on the lamp post,
    both dressed in Suit
    and combed with hair gel.
They watch closely, side by side,
    with a confident gaze,
    patiently and without haste,
    like someone doing a job,
    looking up and down
    looking for a vulture hen.

    But they are not casanovas,
    nor trashy Don Juans.
it's clear and a mile away
that they are very good people.
    With education to spare,
    without relying on serendipity,
they go in search, without idleness,
    overcoming any ditch
    to find their better half
    and form their families.

In the distance two vultures hen
can be seen flying in the sky,
as if it was their hair,
    they're combing their feathers.
    Flirting they go, sure
    that beauty, the rite,
    is a precious requisite
    to get a partner,
    to stop being single
    and have their vultures chicks.

    The suit-dressed vultures
    are rushing
    to make their appointment
with the girls of the hairstyle.
    With polite manners
    and very distinguished treatment,
    sincere and without theatrics,
    of sympathies a waste
    they met on the night
    December 24th.

    Cupid, who is a flyer
    had an easy day
    to hit the bull's eye,
    that which ignites love.
    The star with its brightness
    dispelled the darkness
    and gave clarity
    to those pure romances
that sprang up in these vultures
    on Christmas night.

A few days ago @omarrojas left a comment on a post of one of my sonnets, saying that he was waiting for a poem related to Christmas. Although I almost always have Christmas material, because it is a theme that I like very much, this year I had not prepared anything. So I started looking for a way to get into the subject, but I had not found an answer.

Today, at noon, I had to go downtown to do some errands and there was a little traffic, so I had time to look at the scenery. Then I saw on one of the light poles on the highway, two vultures perched there, as if they were having a conversation. I regret not having taken a picture of them, which forced me to use an internet image.

But I kept thinking about what kind of dialogue these birds could have had and from there, I got the idea for this poem, which has much of the style of our costumbrista and naïf poetry. Part of that characteristic is the fact that it is written in tenth spinel.

So let this poem serve to add to the immense and beautiful literary activity dedicated to Christmas in Hive.

I clarify that the English translation has no literary pretensions, but only to facilitate the understanding of those who love literature in Spanish, but do not have deep knowledge of the language.

I take this opportunity once again to wish you all a Merry Christmas!
