    About :

When I was young I always thought that I had no influence from The Beatles until I was playing bass in a band and I started to play some figures and the musicians told me that these phrases were from different songs of the English band. To my disbelief they searched for some of them and that's when I understood that I was much more influenced than I thought. From that moment on, I declared myself part of the "Beatle" generation.

This video that I bring to you today has two important aspects. One is that it's part of my recognition of that influence, and that's why I wanted to pay tribute to the Liverpool Four by doing a cañonera version of one of their greatest hits. Strawberry Fields Forever ( Lennon-McCartney) was released as a single in 1967 and reached the top of the Billboard charts worldwide.

I think it was after listening to the ska version of this song by the group Fabulosos Cadillacs that I had the idea to make a version as a Caracas pasodoble.

The other aspect to highlight is that we played this song only in the anniversary event of Los Cañoneros, when we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the group, in 2012. At that time, I didn't release it because it had some details that I didn't like, mainly because I had mistakes with the English lyrics.

But after that, some of the unreleased videos of that concert got lost. Recently I was able to get access to an old hard drive that I had not been using and they appeared. So although this material is from 11 years ago, it is a world premiere.

Today I feel that the "mistakes" made in the song can be put aside because it is important historical material in the history of the group and my own personal trajectory.

After seeing this, it makes me want to retake the song and record it for real... What do you think?

As an additional detail, I share with you a photo that I edited at that time and published in my social networks, making the joke that I had made a substitution to George Harrison, during a show of that "little group".
