In the beginnings of the group Los Cañoneros, sometimes we would meet to do jammings, from there, musical ideas would arise that sometimes were concrete and others not. At that time, the saxophonist, who was a jazz lover, suggested that we play "My favorite things".

This song, with music by Richard Rogers, is part of the soundtrack of the film "The Sound of Music" (1965), but it became a jazz standard because of the beauty of the melody and the original harmonization.

The most curious thing is that, played with our instrumentation, it sounded like a Venezuelan waltz. For that reason we rehearsed it several times, but we never finished arranging it and never played it in public.

Several years later, with the birth of a musical movement of instrumental ensembles in Venezuela, this same song has been recorded, just as if it were a Venezuelan waltz.

That's why this time I wanted to accompany it with the cuatro and give it that rhythm, which I think suits it very well.

Here I continue with my challenge of learning to play this instrument, which has been so difficult, but I am passionate about it and I know that I will get to achieve a "decent" sound and that it will improve day by day.

Thank you for the support you have given me, despite the still persistent failures!
