Para llegar a este post que les presento en este momento, se mezclaron varios elementos interesantes. Desde hace tiempo he querido retomar los #soneochallenges que hace tiempo lanzó Gonzalo Grau y los cuales, además de ser una práctica superinteresante, por el reto que te impone al limitarte solo a una muy corta improvisación de versos, también es muy divertida. Apartando el hecho de que la calidad musical del acompañamiento es fenomenal, ya que Gonzalo rearmoniza estos fragmentos de una manera en que solo él sabe hacerlo. Ese es otro aspecto que convierte estos retos en un "verdadero reto", pues aunque uno esté acostumbrado a este tipo de improvisación en la salsa, los cambios armónicos en estas versiones, te obligan a romper los moldes y ajustarte a su concepto.

Aunque quería retomar el reto, no encontré ninguna canción que me "inspirara" en esta ocasión, porque quería encontrar una que me permitiera aprovechar la ocasión para enviar un saludo de navidad y de fin de año, pero tal como lo he explicado antes, es deber del cantante de salsa mantenerse dentro de la temática de la canción, puedes jugar un poco, pero no puedes irte del tema de la canción, lo que sea que improvises "debe" tener su relación con el tema del que trate la pieza. Pues, de las que yo conocía y que son parte del reto, ninguna me permitía mencionar la navidad.

Apart from the fact that the musical quality of the accompaniment is phenomenal, as Gonzalo reharmonizes these fragments in a way that only he knows how to do. That is another aspect that makes these challenges a "real challenge", because even if you are used to this type of improvisation in salsa, the harmonic changes in these versions force you to break the mold and adjust to his concept.

Although I wanted to take up the challenge, I did not find any song that "inspired" me on this occasion, because I wanted to find one that would allow me to take advantage of the occasion to send a Christmas and New Year's greeting, but as I explained before, it is the duty of the salsa singer to stay within the theme of the song, you can play a little, but you can not leave the theme of the song, whatever you improvise "must" have its relationship with the theme of the piece. Well, of the ones I knew that are part of the challenge, none of them allowed me to mention Christmas.

Así fue que decidí buscar una canción completa para cantar, lo que tenía claro es que quería que fuera una salsa. Decidí entonces buscar a uno de mis cantautores preferidos en ese género, como lo es Rubén Blades.

Allí fue que encontré una canción a la que yo nunca le había prestado atención, "Caminando" y cuya letra me encantó, porque habla de la importancia de uno caminar, es decir, moverte, que es la única manera de avanzar en la vida y que los logros vienen con el tiempo, siempre y cuando te mantengas caminando. Y lo mejor del caso, es que esta canción es una de las que tiene Gonzalo Grau en su #soneochallenge. En esta canción sí tenía cabida el mensaje que yo quería dar, así que todo confluyó y aquí les traigo con mucho gusto mi nueva participación en este divertido reto y aprovecho para desearles a todos una muy feliz navidad.
