Today I made the Restoration of a gentleman's strap, the gentleman is my husband. I don't know what the straps have, but he has several and loves them, some better than others, some more expensive than others, but each one has its personality and he uses it for certain garments, that is to say the strap for the blue jeans of the week is impossible to be the one he would use for the weekends, to give you an example of the theme of the straps.

Hoy realicé la Restauración de una correa de caballero, el caballero es mi esposo. No sé que tienen las correas, pero el tiene varias y las ama, unas mejores que otras, unas más caras que otras, pero cada una tiene su personalidad y él la usa para ciertas prendas, es decir la correa para el blue jeans de la semana es imposible que sea la que usaría para los fines de semana, por darles un ejemplo del tema de las correas.

This strap is several years old, but it is really very strong and is one of the most used, and the constant use has made the leather piece that contains the buckle of the strap deteriorate, which has a screw instead of a rivet, so it is very easy to remove the screw with its locking piece, to restore the leather piece and thus extend the life, as my husband wants. Esta correa es de varios años, pero realmente es muy fuerte y es una de las que más usa, y el uso contante ha hecho que se deteriore la pieza de cuero que contiene la hebilla de la correa, la cual tiene un tornillo en lugar de un remache, de manera que es muy fácil retirar el tornillo con su pieza de cierre, para restaurar la pieza de cuero y así alargar la vida útil, tal y como mi esposo quiere. The leather piece that connects the buckle with the long piece or rather the strap itself, is the one that has the main deterioration, so after removing the screw that closes it, as seen in the photo, the pieces would be separated.

I took a piece of semi-leather and folded it to then trace the piece of leather or connector as I have called it.

La pieza de cuero que conecta la hebilla con la pieza larga o mejor dicho la propia correas, es la que tiene el principal deterioro, así que luego de retirar el tornillo que la cierra, como se ve en la foto, quedarían las piezas separadas.

Tomé una pieza de semicuero la doblé para luego calcar la pieza de cuero o conector como le he llamado.

With the same design with the fold of the semi-leather, I fix it with a pressure clip to cut it more easily.

Con el diseño calcado con el doblez del semicuero, lo fijo con un clip de presión para cortarlo más fácilmente.

To finish reproducing the design as it is, I need to make this cut or opening that will be located in the buckle.

Para terminar de reproducir el diseño tal cual es, me falta realizar este corte o apertura que se ubicará en la hebilla.

Now I make the connection with this piece and the buckle, inserting the piece inside the buckle, I bend it so that it stays in place.

Ahora sí hago la conexión con esta pieza y la hebilla, introduciendo la pieza dentro de la hebilla, doblo para que quede en su lugar.

Again, I help myself with the pressure clips so that both sides of the semi-leather piece are well squared and both sides match, and I process to make a straight seam going over it two or three times to guarantee its resistance.

Nuevamente me ayudo con los clips de presión para que ambos lados de la pieza de semicuero quede bien cuadrada y coincidan ambos lados, y proceso a realizar una costura recta pasando dos o tres veces por encima de ella misma para garantizar su resistencia.

This is what the piece looks like up to this point, already a very noticeable change.

Así luce la pieza hasta este momento, ya es un cambio bien notable.

I decided to round the design a little and I can check that it fits well on the strap. Now placing the strap on top of the piece I mark where I have to make the perforation and with the help of a tool I make the perforation.

Decidí redondear un poco el diseño y puedo compruebo que queda bien en la correa. Ahora ubicando la correa arriba de la pieza marco donde debo hacer la perforación y con ayuda de alguna herramienta realizo la misma.

Once the perforation has been made in the exact place, I simply assemble the strap and the piece of semi-leather with the screw and nut.

Ya con la perforación realizada en el lugar exacto, simplemente armo con el tornillo y tuerca la correa y la pieza de semicuero.

The strap is now ready and assembled. The shade of the semi leather goes very well with the strap and is strong enough to make it work.

Así queda lista y armada la correa. El tono del semicuero va muy bien con la correa y es lo suficientemente fuerte para que funcione.

The strap is operational again, I know my husband will continue to wear it for several more years in his specific outfits as he wears his various straps. He is very happy to have it back, and although I don't quite understand his love for leashes, it makes me happy that he is happy to have it.

Ya la correa está operativa nuevamente, se que mi esposo la seguirá usando por varios años más en sus outfits específicos como él usa sus varias correas. Él está muy feliz por tenerla de nuevo, y aunque no entiendo muy bien ese amor por las correas, si me hace feliz que él se sienta feliz por tenerla.
