    Hello food lovers✨

    I was surfing through YouTube and I saw an alternative way to make cakes. Before now, I was already craving cake but was too reluctant to order myself a piece.

    I came across a video and thought to myself, "why not just bake yourself a cake?". I looked through the ingredients and I saw that I had all the alternative ingredients at home and so I sprang up from bed and got to baking. It was already 10pm but I didn't mind.

    The ingredients

    • Roughly 200g of Flour
    • 100g of sugar
    • 3 eggs
    • 120 ml of Milk
    • 80 ml of vegetable Oil
    • Baking powder
    • Vanilla flavour
    • nutmeg(optional)

    Normally, I use margarine to make my cakes. I was a little sceptical when I saw vegetable oil but still decided to try it out. Theres nor harm in trting right?

    Procedure

    I like to divide my process two. Preparing the wet ingredients and dry ingredients.

    First, for the wet ingredients, I blended the egg with sugar in a blender ( in the absence of a cake mixer). After getting the foamy texture, I went on to add my vegetable oil, flavour and milk. Blend.

    Second, the dry ingredients. I sieved my flour into a bowl. After sieving, add your baking powder and grated nutmeg. Mix everything properly and you're almost done making your cake

    The third and final process involves you mixing the dry and wet ingredients together. I was after a particular consistency and so I kept adding flour till I got the consistency. I honestly didn't measure.

    After getting my consistency, I oiled my pan. I used a small pan. After oiling, I put in my cake and went ahead to put the pan in the oven.

    I was really eager about the outcome and so I was hanging around the kitchen. In the end, I decided to take the cake and breakfast, as it was too late to eat. Fingers crossed.

    The cake came out really well. I think I'm going to try out this recipe once again, but on a larger scale. All the ingredients blended so well.

    My cake came out a bit irregularly because I just put the cake into the pan without brushing the top, but the taste was divine.
