It's Tele Tuesday once again and this week I decided to try a little something by the madman himself!
Mama I'm coming Home has always been one of my favorite songs by Ozzy Osbourne and I think Zakk Wylde has done a great job guiar-wise on this one. The harmonic parts, the fills and the heavy breakdown are all very good and also I really like this solo so I thought I'd take a stab at it.
It's not a very hard solo. technically speaking, but it does present a couple of challenges, one being reproducing the heavy attacking hand that's very characteristic of Zakk and the other is right at the end of the solo where he bends the E string and then grab the B string that is also bent and then release that B string on the way back. Cool little effect that you don't see a lot and it takes a little practice to get used to.
I'm pretty happy with the final result, although, as always, there is some room for improvement.
For this one, as usual, I used my custom Tele, a brazilian Meteoro amp and a BOSS OD-20 pedal. This time, however, the OD-20 is emulating a Proco Rat, instead of the usual Klon Centaur because I thought I'd need a little more gain for this solo.
I hope you enjoy it and any feedback is appreciated and encouraged!
