Hellooo lovely people of the Afritunes community 🥰. Congratulations and happy anniversary to everyone🥳. I would've loved to wish us all in all african languages but then I remembered only Nigeria has over 500 languages already, this post would never end if I did.
This is my first entry this year and I'm glad to be a part of the anniversary 🥰, though time didn't permit me to do much. I love African music because it portrays a culture common to just us and would be recognized anywhere around the world as originally from Africa. Africa is blessed with a lot of things, the people in this community inclusive, kudos to @ksam and all the moderators who keep our community safe for us to thrive.
A bit ironic I'm smiling in my thumbnail right? Weird is cool sometimes 😂
I had quite a dilemma choosing a song for this week (all my african music seem to be archived somewhere in my head), but, my friend suggested this song and I have presented it my humble way. It's a heartbreak song, Asa tells the story of a love once healthy and thriving which gradually falls apart. Bibanke in Yoruba language means "if I cry". She says if I cry so hard (tears are flowing or it's raining), leave me alone. I interprete as an acceptance of grief, which an important stage on healing. She tells her ex-lover to leave her to mourn. Love lost is never a pretty thing but in all, we find expression to grow.
A brief shootout to fellow community members, @hopestylist, @ merit.ahama, @maryjacy, @benii, @sleemfit, @obaro, @jessicaossom, @wolfofnostreet, @ovey10 and everyone!, you guys are amazing 🔥🔥. Happy anniversary y'all 🥳❤
