Greetings, friends and family of Hive Open Mic! I hope everyone is feeling great. This week 184 we will be developing a very interesting and cheerful theme, as is "Sabor" (Flavor), proposed by featured artist @kococuatro.

The nice thing about Hive Open Mic is that every week we come across diverse themes that sometimes take us out of our comfort zone and that allows us to grow more as artists. For me the expression "Sabor" (Flavor/Taste) is closely related to Latin music and refers to that very positive and joyful vibe we feel when listening, singing or dancing to these mainly Caribbean rhythms.

¡Saludos, amigos y familia de Hive Open Mic! Espero que todos se encuentren muy bien. La presente semana 184 estaremos desarrollando una temática muy interesante y alegre, como lo es “Sabor”, propuesta por el artista destacado @kococuatro.

Lo bonito de Hive Open Mic es que cada semana nos encontramos con temáticas diversas que a veces nos llevan a salir de nuestra zona de confort y eso nos permite crecer más como artistas. Para mí la expresión “Sabor” está muy relacionada con la música latina y se refiere a esa onda muy positiva y alegre que se siente al escuchar, cantar o bailar estos ritmos principalmente caribeños.

On this topic, today I want to present a song that has a lot of flavor, not only because of its salsa rhythm, but also because it talks about a variety of fruits and how they sweeten the palate of those who taste them. The piece is interpreted by the sonero of the world Oscar D'León and Dimensión Latina, as part of the album Éxitos Candela of 1976.

In this presentation I make a minor percussion accompaniment to the track of the song; although this is not the area I master the most, since I play these instruments practically self-taught, I set out to carry the rhythm of the music making a percussive base with bongo, bell and shaker. A propósito de este tópico hoy les quiero presentar una canción que precisamente tiene mucho sabor, no solo por su ritmo de salsa, sino también porque habla de una variedad de frutas y cómo éstas endulzan el paladar de quien las prueba. La pieza es interpretada por el sonero del mundo Oscar D’León y la Dimensión Latina, como parte del álbum Éxitos Candela de 1976.

En esta presentación hago un acompañamiento de percusión menor a la pista de la canción; si bien esta no es el área que más domino, ya que toco estos instrumentos prácticamente de forma autodidacta, me dispuse a llevar el ritmo de la música haciendo una base percusiva con bongó, campana y shaker.
