Greetings, friends of The Anime Realm! It's a pleasure to be participating for the first time in this community dedicated to the exciting world of Anime, and I hope it will be the first of many. Although I'm not the most assiduous anime fan and I haven't watched that many series, I must admit that I've taken a special liking to this genre of animation over the years.

Today I want to tell you about a story that has impacted the world of manga and anime for many years now. Shingeki no Kyojin, translated as Attack on Titans, although its literal translation from Japanese would be Attack Titan, came to light in 2009 with the manga written by Hajime Isayama. In 2013 it came out in anime format and was the beginning of a saga of events that to this day has us waiting for a final outcome.

¡Saludos, amigos de The Anime Realm! Es un placer estar participando por primera vez en esta comunidad dedicada al apasionante mundo del Anime, y espero que sea la primera de muchas. Aunque no soy la más asidua fanática del anime ni tengo tantas series vistas, debo admitir que le he tomado un gusto especial a este género de animación a lo largo de los años.

El día de hoy quiero hablarles de una historia que ha impactado el mundo del manga y del anime desde hace ya muchos años. Shingeki no Kyojin, traducido en Latinoamérica como Ataque a los Titanes, aunque su traducción literal del japonés sería Titán de Ataque, salió a la luz en el año 2009 con el manga escrito por Hajime Isayama. En el año 2013 sale en formato de anime y fue el inicio de una saga de eventos que hasta el día de hoy nos tiene a la expectativa de un desenlace final.

We have had to wait years and years since the first season to follow the events of Eren, Mikasa, Armin and many other characters that make life in the series. To top it off, the fourth and final season that premiered in September 2020 was divided into 3 parts, and the third part into two halves, one that already aired in March this year and the other that would be aired at the end of this same year, a total madness.

But what is this long-running story about? Respectable anime fans already know the answer, but I will comment without spoilers the plot of Attack on the Titans for those who have not yet seen what has been considered one of the best anime ever.

Hemos tenido que esperar años y años desde la primera temporada para seguir los acontecimientos de Eren, Mikasa, Armin y muchos otros personajes que hacen vida en la serie. Por si fuera poco, la cuarta y última temporada que se estrenó en septiembre de 2020 fue dividida en 3 partes, y la tercera parte a su vez en dos mitades, una que ya se emitió en marzo de este año y la otra que sería emitida a finales de este mismo año, una locura total.

Pero, ¿De qué trata esta historia a la que se le ha dado tantas largas? Los fans respetables del anime ya saben la respuesta, pero paso a comentar sin spoilers la trama de Ataque a los Titanes para quienes aún no han visto el que se ha considerado uno de los mejores animes de la historia.

The story takes place on an island called Paradis, where the main protagonist, Eren lives in relative harmony with his parents, his foster sister Mikasa and has a best friend named Armin. The peculiarity of this town is that it’s completely enclosed with three levels of walls built a hundred years ago, nothing more and nothing less than to protect the population from hostile humanoid giants of various sizes that try to devour the villagers.

The inhabitants of Paradis have been able to survive in relative peace for many years despite this situation, thanks to the walls and the armed forces that are divided into different squads in order to protect the island from any threat. Unfortunately, the day came when a particularly large titan managed to break through the outer wall and gave way to the giants inside the city, forcing the inhabitants to flee to safer areas and unleashing total chaos. One piece of information we can also learn is that to defeat the giants it’s necessary to cut off the back of their necks.

La historia se desarrolla en una isla llamada Paradis, en la que el protagonista principal, Eren vive en una relativa armonía con sus padres, su hermana de crianza Mikasa y tiene a un mejor amigo llamado Armin. Lo peculiar de esta localidad es que se encuentra totalmente cercada con tres niveles de murallas construidas hace cien años, nada más y nada menos que para proteger a la población de gigantes humanoides hostiles de diversos tamaños que intentan devorar a los pobladores.

Los habitantes de Paradis han podido sobrevivir en relativa paz por muchos años a pesar de esta situación, gracias a las murallas y a las fuerzas armadas que se dividen en diferentes escuadrones a fin de proteger a la isla de toda amenaza. Lamentablemente, llegó el día en que un titán especialmente grande logró romper la muralla externa y dio paso a los gigantes al interior de la ciudad, forzando a los habitantes a huir a zonas más seguras y desatando un caos total. Un dato que también podemos conocer es que para derrotar a los gigantes es necesario cortarles la nuca.

This is where the questions begin that can lead those who have not seen the series to start watching it. What is the origin of these giants?, what do they have against the inhabitants of Paradis and why do they attack them?, what will be beyond those walls, what is the world like beyond the confines of the island?, and most importantly, what will be the role and mission of our main characters Eren, Mikasa and Armin in the outcome of the story?

To solve all these mysteries I invite you to watch this exciting anime and catch up for the final section that although it has no official date, we know that awaits us in the last quarter of this year. I assure you that you will not regret it.
