The song that I bring you today, undoubtedly represents an icon in the traditional Venezuelan repertoire.

Many years ago, specifically in 1977 the author of this song known as Pablo Camacaro, had to travel to the state of Bolivar in Venezuela, he traveled because he had musical presentations there, and was accompanied by great artist friends, at one point sharing with his friends, he says the phrase "Que si patatin, que si patatan", that phrase immediately became popular in the group where they were, taking it practically throughout the trip. As it was so funny the way in which the group took this word, he promised them that he would make a musical theme and that it would take that name.

And so it was, he composed the theme song that at that time was only an instrumental version and recorded it by a group called Raíces de Venezuela, who made it known throughout the country, then one of the great composers known as Luis Laguna called the master Pablo Camacaro to ask permission and add lyrics to his song "Patatin Patatan".

No doubt he knew how to capture, or at least it seems to me, the playfulness of this song with a merengue rhythm, and the phrases he added to the melody, are very unique and cheerful, I love to play this piece. So I bring you this song, with my mandolin, hoping you like it.
