Oppenheimer, Source of Image Edited with Paint

Greetings boys and girls of hive, this is a film that could be considered bibliographical about Oppenheimer, a scientist who in real life is considered the father of the atomic bombs and mark a before and after for humanity because those bombs that were developed can give end to our species, directed by Nolan which is a brilliant architectural mind for this film to which I give 9. 5 out of 10 because the most important thing it has is that it brings knowledge to people about something that happened decades ago leaving scars on countries and people all over the world.

This is a REVIEW WITH SPOILERS that starts from this moment to be able to comment in more detail all those scenes that remained pleasantly in my mind for the message they have and all the political and physical conflict that brings with this character that in real life went down in history as one of the greatest scientists on the planet.

The score is almost perfect, that shows how much I liked the film but there are two elements to criticize that I want to mention because the good of the film has already been mentioned as for example the performance and aesthetics of Cillian Murphy for the character of Oppenheimer, I only see perfect synchronicity by this actor, once highlighted this, let's start with the points to criticize which are the following:

    The Scientist, Source of Image

    • Hiroshima and Nagasaki non-existent in the film: this is a historical event that defines the life of the character of which we are watching the story and they pass this event in the film in a matter of seconds with a phone call in which it is said that the bombs were dropped, the most important of the film was not shown.

Nolan chose to take The Trinity as the main event but this is just a test, the real star is the scientific execution of what has been built, tests and simulations are important but the events that make history are when the designs are used for what they were made for and in this case the bombs were designed to kill and that whole event is lost in the film.

We see some of the consequences on the character but let's not see the power of the nuclear bomb leaving people as shadows on the walls, that was what happened and should have been shown for the story to be complete.

    • The Communist Theme: this is a point to criticize during the first act of the film where Oppenheimer relates to the character of Jean Tatlock played by Florence Pugh, I understand the whole communist and spy concept of the situation but it took too many minutes of the film ideas that could have been handled in less minutes and conveyed the same feeling.

There are basically two trials that serve to tell the story where one of them is manipulated by Lewis Strauss but it is noticeable in the first hour that there is a lot of that, dialogues that lose the viewer because it is difficult to follow the story line and the physical part is a little drowned, I would have liked to see more of that imagination of Oppenheimer because there are moments of the film where we are shown sparks of what he imagines happens in the atoms and I liked that but then it is lost, we could have enjoyed more of the physical aspect.

It is definitely a film that you have to see several times to get to know the carnival of characters throughout the film and especially to understand the political idea that Director Nolan wants to give us to see because the complex was not the physical part, it was the political communist part that most complicates the film.

Moving on from these criticisms I want to name the best scene for me that I am sure will be a surprise because for many it was unnecessary but in my case the sex scene between Oppenheimer and Jean was the best because it helped to bring peace in the theater where I was watching the film because a mother had brought three children to see the film and one of them was crying very close to me, when this sex scene happened, the indignant mother left the place along with her children and peace reigned in the place to enjoy the film.

Many thanks to @avdesing for helping me with all the video editing. Dedicated each and every one of my posts and videos to my little dog named princess we called her chiquito who is no longer with us but from heaven she will see that her existence YES was valuable and the most beautiful thing that will exist in my heart and soul.
