Hive Open Mic 🎤 week 178 ~ People by Libianca.

Happy weekend, Hive Open Mic community! I am glad to be here again and it's my entry to the theme for the week which is titled "People" and here with me is the cover song of "People" by Libianca, a Cameroonian-American singer. I had this song in mind and decided to try my best in it.

There is an adage that says "The clothes we wear cover our nakedness" and it's the truth. Just as it covers our nakedness, it also hides our problems. Every one of us have different issues bothering our minds and many of us decide not to open up to people but prefer to bottle those feelings inside of us. This is where depression set in, and before we know what is going on, there would be headline news that such a person committed suicide. Some are very strong that no matter what they are going through, nobody will know, yet, they put on smiling faces that make people think they are doing fine but they are not.

Everybody has their different challenges and does not care about others except for the true ones that care to ask how you are feeling. Even when they see you moody, they won't say anything to you because they feel their problems are heavier than yours. Even when you start narrating your ordeals to them, you will hear something like, "My problem is bigger than yours". People don't care what you are going through except for the real ones who love to carry other's burdens onto theirs. They believe in sacrificing their time for others, and still, they are also going through one challenge or the other.

People don't know who you are or whatever you are encountering. They don't even want to listen to whatever you have to say and this is why you see most people wouldn't ask for your welfare at all and this makes you sad. One thing I want you to know is that you can only be true to yourself. Just be "you" and don't give up on hope. You shouldn't go into depression all because you feel somebody calls you all sorts of names. The best is yet to come and when it does, no one will snatch it away from you. It's best to be patient to share your problems with the right person rather than sharing with the wrong ones who wouldn't care but spread it around while making a mockery of you.

Everybody is battling with their challenges and when the right person comes, they would be willing to help you out of your predicament. Just be patient and practice self-love because that is the most important thing. No one knows who you are and they don't care what you are going through. Stay true to yourself and believe that all things will get better.
