Hive Open mic week 150, I am @onos-f and our theme for the week is 'OUR VIRTUE'.
Basically, virtue is a habitual disposition towards good actions or deeds. Virtues can be Moral/Cardinal or theological. Moral virtues are any positive personal qualities that lead a person to lead a good life which is characterized by self-control, altruism and good acts. The moral virtues are attitudes dispositions that govern oneβs actions, passions, and conduct according to reason; and are usually acquired by human efforts.
The four Cardinal virtues; prudence, justice, fortitude and temperance are principal moral virtues on which other virtues depend as a door depends on its hinges.
Secondly, the theological virtues; faith, hope and love are supernatural virtues which guide and direct us to God. They have God as their origin, their motive, and object.
In line with our theme this week which is 'OUR VIRTUE'. I have chosen a song which explores the virtue of hope. The title of the song is 'Whispering Hope'. As you listen to me play my Recorders, I hope you derive some meaning from this entry. I'm not able to sing this week because my throat is so tried and it makes me feel like coughing.
LYRICS OF THE SONG
Soft as the voice of an angel
Breathing a lesson unheard
Hope with a gentle persuasion
Whispers her comforting word
Wait 'til the darkness is over
Wait 'til the tempest is done
Hope for the sunshine tomorrow
After the darkness is gone
Whispering hope (whispering hope, whispering hope)
Oh, how welcome Thy voice (welcome Thy voice, oh, how welcome Thy voice)
Making my heart (making my heart, making my heart)
In its sorrow rejoice (in its sorrow rejoice)
If in the dusk of the twilight
Dim be the region afar
Will not the deepening darkness
Brighten the glimmering star
Then when the night is upon us (ooh)
Why should the heart sink away?
When the dark midnight is over
Watch for the breaking of day
Whispering hope (whispering hope, whispering hope)
Oh, how welcome Thy voice (welcome Thy voice, oh, how welcome Thy voice)
Making my heart (making my heart, making my heart)
In its sorrow rejoice (in its sorrow rejoice)
