"Across the Star" fue compuesto por John Williams para la segunda parte de esta saga, "El Ataque de los Clones", que nos muestra el desarrollo del amor de Padme Amidala y Anakin Skywalker. Anakin es un Jedi y Padmé una senadora los cuales no deben estar juntos porque a los caballeros jedi se les prohíbe enamorarse. Anakin se enamora de Padmé desde la primera vez que la ve cuando eran unos niños, quedando deslumbrado por su belleza, inteligencia y forma de ser, este amor es tan grande que es capaz de incumplir las reglas de los jedi por ella. Padmé siempre fue una ferviente luchadora de la libertad, ejerciendo su cargo de la mejor manera, mientras que Anakin ejercía su labor como Caballero Jedi, ambos se veían en secreto para ocultar su amor de las órdenes de la República. Llegan a casarse en secreto, viven un hermoso amor hasta que Anakin comienza a tener premoniciones en forma de sueño, las cual él interpreta como pesadillas, en estos sueños Anakin veía como su amada Padmé moría mientras daba a luz.

"Across the Star" was composed by John Williams for the second part of this saga, "Attack of the Clones", which shows the development of the love of Padme Amidala and Anakin Skywalker. Anakin is a Jedi and Padme a senator who should not be together because Jedi knights are forbidden to fall in love. Anakin falls in love with Padmé from the first time he sees her when they were children, being dazzled by her beauty, intelligence and way of being, this love is so great that he is able to break the rules of the jedi for her. Padmé was always a fervent freedom fighter, exercising her position in the best way, while Anakin exercised his work as a Jedi Knight, both saw each other in secret to hide their love of the orders of the Republic. They get to marry in secret, live a beautiful love until Anakin begins to have premonitions in the form of dreams, which he interprets as nightmares, in these dreams Anakin saw how his beloved Padmé died while giving birth.

Anakin era un ser muy bueno, pero su amor obsesivo y miedo a perder lo que ama lo volvieron loco. El senador Palpatine, en secreto, fue manipulando a Anakin poco a poco para que sucumbiera al lado oscuro de la fuerza. Esto hizo que Anakin le tuviera odio a la Orden Jedi, creyendo que lo dejaban de lado por temor a que se volviera más fuerte, además de creer que mentían. Esto ocasionó que su mente se nublara y fuese llevado al lado oscuro, esta manipulación de Palpatine llegó muy lejos, ya que creo que Padmé lo estaba manipulando junto a la Orden Jedi, al ver esto, Anakin no escuchó a Padmé y la asfixió hasta que quedara incosciente. Gracias a esto, Obi Wan Kenobi, antiguo maestro de Anakin, tuviera que enfrentarlo para detenerlo e intentar hacerlo entrar en razón. La batalla termina con Anakin casi muerto, pero Palpatine lo encuentra moribundo y lo salva. Mientras tanto, Padmé da a luz a gemelos: Luke y Leia. Padmé perdió la voluntad de vivir y muere en el parto. En otra instancia, Palpatine le otorga a Anakin un traje con un respirador artificial y extremidades mecánicas, Anakin pregunta si Padmé está bien y Palpatine le dice que él mismo mató a su amada y ahí, Anakin se convierte en Darth Vader.

Anakin was a very good person, but his obsessive love and fear of losing what he loved drove him mad. Senator Palpatine secretly manipulated Anakin little by little to succumb to the dark side of the force. This caused Anakin to hate the Jedi Order, believing that they were casting him aside for fear that he would become stronger, as well as believing that they were lying. This caused his mind to become clouded and he was taken to the dark side, this manipulation by Palpatine went too far, as I believe Padmé was manipulating him along with the Jedi Order, upon seeing this, Anakin did not listen to Padmé and smothered her until she was unconscious. Thanks to this, Obi Wan Kenobi, Anakin's former master, had to confront him to stop him and try to make him see reason. The battle ends with Anakin almost dead, but Palpatine finds him dying and saves him. Meanwhile, Padmé gives birth to twins: Luke and Leia. Padmé loses the will to live and dies in childbirth. In another instance, Palpatine gives Anakin a suit with an artificial respirator and mechanical limbs, Anakin asks if Padmé is well and Palpatine tells him that he himself killed his beloved and there, Anakin becomes Darth Vader.
