Welcome to Afri-tunes Community; a community where we share, listen to and enjoy African music and tunes on Hive.
This is the 64th week of our weekly contest on Hive. I encourage you to do well to subscribe, join in and present, as well as always check out for lovely African tunes in the Community.
Worship songs have their unique aura and ambience and you readily notice them when you sing or hear them, especially if it's a song you love so much. It has a strong way of connecting us to the divine, making us feel His presence and leading us to adore the Most High.
The first time I heard Osuba re by Peterson Okopi, was during a worship session. Since then, I've always longed to sing it with my crooked voice, but I was limited back then because I couldn't sing and play. But, this time around, I know it won't be the best presentation, neither will it be a very great vocal rendition. Yet, I believe it is my own way of worshipping God, the Most High and giving Him all due adoration.
I hope you'll love this piece, and I've written out the Yoruba words as well as its translation for you (my audience) to relate better with the song.
Olorun to l’emi mi (To God who owns my life)
Osuba Re ma re o eh (This is Your Worship Lord – It’s For You)
Osuba Re ma re o eh
Osuba Re ma re o eh eh eh eh
Osuba Re ma re o eh
Verse 1
Oba adaked’ajo (The King who judges silently)
Oba oludaabo mi (The King, My protector)
Mo gbe iba fun O oo (I give you worship)
Mo F’ori Bale O! (I bow before you)
