This is my second trip to the sett of the badger pair (Meles Meles) which I documented on video. The snow had covered the ground before the hike but despite freezing sub-zero temperatures, it was quite pleasant outside. Chill, but pleasant. Even the sun came out later on.
On the way to the sett I encountered a pair of roe deer (Capreolus Capreolus), and captured a raven flying overhead with something in his mouth.
The trail camera I have set up at the badger pair’s hole captured them being still active despite winter. They don’t come out when it’s too cold and when they’re too much snow, but on warmer days and on days after the snowmelt they snoop around their sett like it’s summer. They don’t wander too far, but do come out to poop and check to see if any easily available food may have found its way to their location.
I used an instrumental song which I composed and performed as background music for the trail cam compilation. It’s a guitar solo in D-minor. It was recorded live before a live audience. There is no studio recording of this musical piece.
