Hello friends of the Hive, especially my dear friends of the Hive Open Mic. In week 174 we are brought together by the theme "Lantern of Light" selected by the featured artist @gloriaolar, a young woman with an extraordinary voice and great musical talent. A big hug friend. Today I bring you a wonderful song popularized by the Great Gloria Estefan entitled "Lantern". I hope you like it.

This song Farolito was composed by the Colombian Kike Santander and is on the album "Abriendo Puertas" by Gloria Estefan that was released in 1995. Farolito is the hymn for the night of the candles that is sung a lot on December 7 in Colombia opening the joy of Christmas, its typical rhythm of the Colombian coast called currulao, where its main instrumental accompaniment is percussion finding conga, maracas, tambora, wooden sticks among others.

Day of the candles is a very important holiday for Colombians at Christmas and is celebrated as the eve of the Day of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, which is a gathering of the Catholic community in Colombia. All united in a prayer chain ask for health, love and world peace. In this celebration they place candles and paper lanterns on the balconies, porches, streets, sidewalks, parks and squares.

This day is memorable because it brings together many people asking God to light the way for us and for people to reflect and be a beacon of light, bringing love and peace to the world.
