PukuGreetings to all my pukufriends. I present you this new music video recorded at PukuEstudio titled: "Hive Music Festival - Week N°62 - Round 2 - Drums and Bata - @nahupuku (Original Song)", which I recorded with my bass, guitar, voice mic and @orimusic in my drumset. For me it is very important to learn to play new instruments especially if they have some connection with the mystical and spiritual world in this case the Bata drums come from Africa and came to the Caribbean through slavery a few years ago specifically in colonial times and they passed first through Cuba and then came to Venezuela, making it important that the legacy of the percussionists of this musical genre that performs the Bata drums are considered holy and sacred people connected to the mystical and spiritual world.

To get these drums was not easy because they are not sold in almost any common music store, they are usually sent to set or brought from outside the country, but I could buy mine here because they are of Venezuelan manufacture, they are smaller than the ones you can find outside the country, but I wanted this kind of drums for my collection without having to spend so much money and the savings after acquiring them was considerable. They are expensive drums due to their current use in the Yoruba religion or Santeria, so, they are expensive to buy because they are mainly used for the rituals of the religion.

For this reason I wanted this week to bring several executions accompanied both with the batá drums and my drums, the pukuinstrumento, and is what I show you below a fusion of rhythms between rock and Latin music taking the genre to a new level through experimentation. In this opportunity, I bring back something that characterizes me, creativity to the maximum, and I merge in a coherent but experimental way, both sonorities, I like the drums that, being small, bring a very sharp register, which contrasts with the one generated by my drums, and gives the impression that a real conversation is being generated between both percussive instruments.

Para mí es muy importante aprender a tocar nuevos instrumentos sobre todo si tienen alguna conexión con el mundo místico y espiritual en este caso los tambores Bata vienen desde África y llegaron al Caribe por medio de la esclavitud de hace unos cuantos años específicamente en la época colonial y ellos pasaron primero por Cuba y luego llegaron a Venezuela, haciendo importante que el legado de los percusionistas de este género musical que ejecuta los tambores batá sean considerados personas santas y sagradas conectadas con el mundo místico y espiritual.

Para conseguir estos tambores no fue nada fácil ya que no lo venden en casi ninguna tienda de música común generalmente se mandan a set o se traen de afuera del país, pero los míos los pude comprar aquí ya que son de fabricación venezolana son más pequeños que los va que se pueden encontrar fuera del país, pero quería este hacer de tambores para mi colección sin tener que gastar tanto dinero y el ahorro luego de adquirirlos fue considerable. Son tambores costosos debido a su uso actualmente en la religión Yoruba o Santería, por lo que, son costosos de comprar porque se utilizan principalmente para los rituales de la religión.

Por esta razón quise esta semana traer varias ejecuciones acompañado tanto con los tambores batá como mi batería, el pukuinstrumento, y es lo que les muestro a continuación una fusión de ritmos entre el rock y la música latina llevando el género a un nuevo nivel mediante la experimentación. En esta oportunidad, vuelvo a traer algo que me caracteriza, la creatividad al máximo, y fusiono de manera coherente pero experimental, ambas sonoridades, me gusta de los tambores que, al ser pequeño traen un registro agudo muy marcado, el cual contrasta con el que genera mi batería, y da la impresión de que se esta generando una verdadera conversación entre ambos instrumentos percutivos.
