GREEN BEGINNING

Ver esta foto me llena de nostalgia, es una imagen que me gusta mucho y fue la que inmediatamente se me vino a la mente cuando supe que la temática del CONCURSO de @celf.magazine era sobre la palabra "VERDE".

Seeing this photo fills me with nostalgia, it is an image that I like very much and it was the one that immediately came to my mind when I knew about the theme of the CONTEST of @celf.magazine about the word "GREEN".

Hay fotos que entrañan una historia muy particular y esa que te presento hoy representa mis inicios como fotógrafo. En aquella época no podría haber imaginado que estaría ganando dinero con este oficio que tanto me apasiona.

Some pictures have a very particular story and this one I present to you today represents my beginnings as a photographer. At that time I could not have imagined that I would be making money with this profession that I am so passionate about.

La imagen que ustedes ven corresponde a una escena que capté en Higuerote, estado Miranda, Venezuela. Corría el año 2012 y yo me encontraba visitando, río adentro, las cascadas que unen su cauce con una playa conocida como La Cangrejera.

The image below corresponds to a scene I captured in Higuerote, Miranda state, Venezuela. In 2012, I was visiting the waterfalls that connect the river with a beach known as La Cangrejera.

Allí en ese lugar, estábamos a unos 3 o 4 kilómetros de distancia de la orilla y al sitio solo se llega caminando por un lado del frío río, que tiene también ciertas áreas con aguas termales.

In that place, we were about 3 or 4 kilometers away from the shore and the site can only be reached by walking along just beside the cold river, which also has certain areas with hot springs.

El niño, de unos 8 años de edad, estaba haciendo equilibrio sobre una balsa improvisada confeccionada con troncos. Él estaba solo, por lo que supuse que era un lugareño.

The boy, about 8 years old, was balancing on an improvised raft made of logs. He was alone, so I assumed he was a resident of that paradise.

El pequeño no corría peligro, la corriente no era fuerte, ni era profundo aquel pozo. Por aquella época, yo tenía 30 años. La cámara que llevaba conmigo era de mi cuñada. Era una Kodak, pero no recuerdo el modelo.

The little fellow was not in danger, the current was not strong, nor was the well deep. At that moment, I was 30 years old. The camera I had with me belonged to my sister-in-law. It was a Kodak, but I don't remember the model.

El tiempo solo me dice que voy por buen camino y esa frase no la digo en base a considerar algún nivel de la experiencia, pero sí por todas las experiencia que he vivido.

Time only tells me that I'm on the right track, and I don't say that phrase based on any level of experience, but on all the experiences I've had.
