This is the largest and most beautiful Bulgarian monastery. It is part of the UNESCO cultural heritage. This is a male monastery, tourists should follow a dress code. Bare backs or skimpy clothing are not allowed.
In the video you will also see the monastery ossuary, which looks quite dramatic in bad weather.
I tried to fly quite close to the buildings so you could see the beautiful ornaments. The monastery is located in Rila mountain. It is surrounded by unique nature - a dense forest and two fast-flowing rivers.
The road to it is easily passable by any type of vehicle. There are a few twists and turns, but it's definitely worth it! You can see photos from the place in my story at Ecency.
