Cuando hablamos de Glam y de moda no podemos obviar a las pasarelas de colecciones. Pienso que la alta costura más que tendencias son obras de arte andantes. Además, donde la costura mayoritariamente es a mano, cada diseño posee una secuencia, cuenta una historia de los procesos sociales o de la vida del diseñador.

A principios de mes cuando supe la temática "Glam" se me vino a la cabeza la reciente película de Cruella, primero porque ví esa película maravillada por las transiciones del arte la intervención y la irreverencia. Allí entendí que la moda habla y es cuando recuerdo a la activista Vivianne Westwood, diseñadora que moldeó la cultura punk y otros con una vision más eclectic del glam como John Galliano, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander Mc Queen y Yohji Yamamoto. Ellos pensaron fuera de la caja, decidieron que la moda debía trascender más allá de lo socialmente aceptado, ser diferentes, ser voz y creo que esa es la visión que tengo de la descentralización y la Web3...somos la generación que está haciendo la transformación a la nueva manera de vivir el Internet. Aquí resaltamos los valores de nuestro ecosistema blockchain que quise plasmar esta vez en donde más que modelo, soy la diseñadora.

When we talk about Glam and fashion we can't overlook the runway collections. I think that haute couture more than trends are walking works of art. In addition, where the sewing is mostly handmade, each design has a sequence, tells a story of social processes or the designer's life.

At the beginning of the month when I learned about the theme "Glam" the recent film Cruella came to my mind, first because I saw that film marveling at the transitions of art, intervention and irreverence. There I understood that fashion speaks and that's when I remember the activist Vivianne Westwood, designer who shaped the punk culture and others with a more eclectic vision of glam like John Galliano, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen and Yohji Yamamoto. They thought outside the box, they decided that fashion should transcend beyond the socially accepted, be different, be a voice and I think that's the vision I have of decentralization and Web3...we are the generation that is making the transformation to the new way of living the Internet. Here we highlight the values of our blockchain ecosystem that I wanted to capture this time where more than a model, I am the designer.

De costura no sé mucho, pero en dibujo supero las expectativas así que rápidamente realicé un boceto de lo que quería plasmar...es un riesgo, pero me gusta ver materializado mis pensamientos. Elegí tres tipos de tela diferente con caída, pero que fueran fáciles de coser y también para experimentar con los marcadores. No tenía mucho presupuesto, pero al final fueron aproximadamente 15 HBD la cantidad invertida. Mary (@maryed) es especialista en lettering y le dije que quería hacer un estampado de Web3, llevando un mensaje sin decir nada (como Westwood). Después de muchos experimentos, resultó.

Con ayuda de algo de Internet y de mi madre, realicé cortes en bies en las tres capas de tela y las junté con un sesgo satinado a modo de pretina. Para la parte superior interviene un vestido con escote de barco con cascadas de lentejuelas negras y en el centro un patrón de lentejuelas más pequeñas con patrones romboides de color negro y rojo con similitud al logo de #Hive y también simulando una "cadena de bloques". Quería agregar más cosas, más detalles, pero decidí no hacerlo porque quería que el protagonismo fuera las letras de la falda.

Complementé el outfit con zapatos de terciopelo negro, medias de red, un choker rojo que había realizado hace como 15 años y unos aros con incrustaciones de cristal. El cabello lo dejé suelto con ondas y dividido hacia un lado, muy pegado, al mejor estilo de los 2000's.

Para el maquillaje opté por un cut crease en tonos vinos usando una escala de valores entre el rosa y el negro, además de usar un delineado que diera el efecto de un ojo más razgado. Usé labial vino para mantener la armonía de la monocromia.

I don't know much about sewing, but in drawing I surpass expectations so I quickly made a sketch of what I wanted to capture...it's a risk, but I like to see my thoughts materialized. I chose three different types of fabric with a drape, but that were easy to sew and also to experiment with markers. I didn't have much budget, but in the end it was about 15HBD the amount invested. Mary (@maryed) is a lettering specialist and I told her I wanted to do an Web3 print, carrying a message without saying anything (like Westwood). After a lot of experimenting, it worked out.

With some help from the Internet and my mother, I made bias cuts in the three layers of fabric and put them together with a satin bias binding as a waistband. For the top, a dress with a boat neckline with cascades of black sequins and in the center a pattern of smaller sequins with rhomboid patterns in black and red with similarity to the #Hive logo and also simulating a "block chain". I wanted to add more things, more details, but I decided not to do it because I wanted the protagonism to be the letters of the skirt.

I complemented the outfit with black velvet shoes, fishnet stockings, a red choker that I had made about 15 years ago and some crystal encrusted earrings. I left my hair loose with waves and parted to one side, very close, in the best 2000's style.

For the makeup I opted for a cut crease in wine tones using a scale of values between pink and black, in addition to using an eyeliner to give the effect of a more slanted eye. I used wine lipstick to maintain the harmony of the monochrome.

Challenge within the challenge

Esta semana experimenté miedo, ansiedad e incertidumbre pero también emoción. No tenía ni idea de cómo materializar la idea y, no obstante, con el material ya comprado pensé en usar un vestido simple de los que tenía guardado, sentía que esto podía ser algo extravagante para el reto, pero este era el momento de experimentar...arriesgado y nada similar a la semana anterior, pero bueno, mi creatividad es algo impredecible cuando le doy rienda suelta. Cuando comencé a grabar la pasarela, la lluvia quiso robar protagonismo así que arruinó algunas tomas que tenía pensadas, pero no me desanimé aunque mis ondas del cabello se deslizaban con la humedad del ambiente.

Me tocó recorrer todo el centro comercial con mi outfit buscando puntos de luz. De todo ese caos puede observar que si funcionó porque muy discretamente más de una persona se quedó leyendo los mensajes del vestido. Mary me apoyó mucho para sacarle provecho al día lluvioso y, al final, fue una experiencia diferente, interesante y probé que en mi ciudad las personas están muy pendientes de lo que llevas puesto y podría ser una estrategia de marketing interesante.

This week I experienced fear, anxiety and uncertainty but also excitement. I had no idea how to materialize the idea and, nevertheless, with the material already purchased I thought of using a simple dress that I had saved, I felt it could be something extravagant for the challenge, but this was the time to experiment...risky and nothing similar to the previous week, but well, my creativity is somewhat unpredictable when I give it free rein. When I started shooting the runway, the rain wanted to steal the show so it ruined some of the shots I had planned, but I wasn't discouraged even though my hair waves were slipping in the humidity.

I had to walk around the mall with my outfit looking for spots of light. From all that chaos you can see that it worked because very discreetly more than one person was reading the messages on the dress. Mary helped me a lot to take advantage of the rainy day and, in the end, it was a different and interesting experience and I proved that in my city people are very aware of what you wear and it could be an interesting marketing strategy.
