COVER Request Contest Week 28! - Winner (50% of the Post Rewards in HP): @merit.ahama!

Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town, South Africa!

I am into the 28th week of this challenging series of posts I have set myself for Thursdays! Wow! BUT I desperately need your help to keep going please!

This is the challenge I'm setting myself every Thursday: I ask for cover song requests on the MUSIC community (make a comment on this post to take part by suggesting a song for me to try), and then I pick a favourite song to learn and post a live video of me attempting to cover it. The person who asked for the winning song then gets 50% of the post rewards in HP! It's as simple as that! (Well for everyone but me - who then has to learn to sing and play a new song every week! Haha!)

Well, this week was a little busier than last week with requests from Bon Jovi to Adele. However, there was one request from a person who has been very supportive of my posts, but has never won before…

The winner this week is @merit.ahama! She is from Nigeria and has a lot in common with me:

• We are from Africa!
• We are both members of @zakludick’s #busybees initiative, where Zak tracks our progress in accumulating more HP and encourages as to keep posting and become stronger on Hive.
• We are two of Zak’s busiest members: Since the beginning of the year, we have both gained an average of over 100HP per week, and both look set to reach dolphin status (Roughly 5600HP) before the year is over!

She requested “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction. Now that’s not too hard to get the basic structure on guitar… What is more challenging is that this is a boy-band made up of boys with a range of voices (some quite low on the verse, and then much higher in the chorus), whereas I am a MAN with a lower voice than any of them… Hahaha!

So basically I had to choose a key where I could be very low on the verses and then rise up high and energetic in the chorus… my answer was half an octave lower, but I think it sounds okay!
