New experience teach new learnings. - Teacher Jeff

There are things that will happen to our lives that we didn't even expect to come. And there were lots of opportunities that comes to our life but not all was given attention and just let it go. And in my case, one of the opportunity when I was a schooler was to join boys scout at school which I never thought that will give me a lot of learnings. And now that I'm a teacher, I didn't let the new opportunity to join the boy scout. I registered upon knowing it aside that we were told because I really to joined. And now, I am one of those outfit advisory whom needs to execute first the things need to be done in the camping.

When we were told to held a scouting, I asked my advisory if they want to join. And glad there's still some who liked but some also declined because they said it's tiresome and they got sick when they joined last two years when they're grade 7. So, I didn't insisted them to join and just gave a parent's consent to those who likes to.

Last Friday was the Day 1 of the camping and today is the last day. I let my students prepared their things especially their food, clothes and sleeping needs. And also my wife's advisory, I need to look for them coz my wife can't stay with us and watch them during the night. She's also busy watching with her students who are busy with their Parol Making contest. When all are fixed and complete, I told my boys to go to the field as they were already called for attention.

Honestly, I don't know yet what will be going on with the camping coz I haven't received my invitation which happens was misplaced by one of my advisory last Thursday. All I know is that we already set up the obstacles that will be used during the execution of the trainings. Aside from that also was I don't have any experience with scouting so I don't jnow really of what will be happening. I'm just observing with my co-teachers who managed the event as leaders.

There were lots of things that happened in the first day and the second. The students were grouped and each troop should follow the rules and their responsibilities in times that the outfit advisory will call them. They also have their BSP troop leaders and they're the scouters. They also need to ensure that they wearing their troop shirt and the color of their banner. And each troop needs to win the races and contest especially during the training (obsatcles) to earn reward flags. I can say that the students are enjoying the opportunity to learn and have fun at the same time. Last night we had our campfire but because it was raining hard, our campfire didn't burn high. I'm also a bit worried with the students coz they're tired and was getting wet because of the rain.

Today, even if we haven't had enough sleep, we need to continue the event under the heavy rain. I kept praying that the rain will stop and glad that during the afternoon, the rain stopped for awhile and the sun shows a little light. With that, we started the execution of the training where we will try to finish the obstacles in front of us. It's like we're training as a police or and army which we enjoyed a lot. I never thought it will give a pang of pain in my miscles as I need to crawl with those obstacles in a muddy plaza. I witnessed how my co-teacher or outfit advisroy enjoyed and laugh during the training. Even me had fun. I'm just worried my wife gets mad at me because my shirt and pants were full of mud but glad she didn't nag at me seeing me dirty. She even asked me if i enjoyed the day and I answered her superb.

Even if the weather is not fine, we still able to finish the said event. Not only the students had enjoyed the day and also the teachers. Indeed it's tiresome but the learnings we learned from the camping is one of the good memories that I'll treasure as a teacher.
