    About :

Greetings from my weirdly spaced out corner of the world.

For the past few months, I had this project idea rolling around in my mind. It seemed simple enough...I wanted to combine two things I enjoy, a favourite tv show and a hobby.

Now...both these things are things I'm a little bit secretive about....mainly because for some reason everyone I know seems to dislike all the tv shows I get excited about. Added to that, around here, if you tell people about your enthusiasm for tarot cards, you get horrified looks. (Even writing about it here makes me a little bit nervous.)

The idea just wouldn't get out of my mind though...I had to created a themed tarot card deck...but not just a nice looking one. (Even though I haven't found any that look decent when first trying to see if I wasn't attempting something that has been done to death)
It was important to me that it be a working, functional, readable and well thought out deck of cards. Suddenly things weren't so easy anymore...I am going to do a series of in depth posts explaining everything over the next few months, but let's just say it takes a lot of research to fully understand the cards, the show...and how to connect things to each other in a way that is accurate and makes sense. Oh, and do a coherent art piece for each of the seventy eight cards in the deck.

Anyways, due to working my brain to the point of numbness, I haven't really been able to do the usual Hive stuff...so for the sake of this still being a drawing post, (as opposed to a long winded gripe session over me signing up for a ton of work just because I want a cool thing...) let me get to the part where I show the actual drawing.

I created this one to try and figure out part of the style I'm trying to develop for the project (This isn't exactly it yet though) and also as a test piece to upload on my social media stuff because I wanted to test the reaction to it, see if I actually have the skills to pull it off. (Luckily I have received pretty positive feedback)

I messed up and had to restart a few times at first, due to being intimidated and doubting myself.
Also couldn't record video and take photos of the drawing process on my phone due to my recording setup being a dodgy DIY thing...

This and a shoe box...time to invest in a tripod for my phone I think...

So I'm making up for it by attaching the timelapse video thing too...

He are the few photos I managed to take, in between yelling at the drawing for not looking right.

Took a few days of false starts and discarded attempts to get to this.

And that's it....now I just need to finish researching stuff, writing and editing the stupid book that goes with it and then do seventy eight more of these...not liking myself too much right now, haha.

    Till next time!
