El pasado 1 de febrero se cumplieron diez años de mi proyecto musical F.U.M.O. (Funerales de Una Mentee Oxidada). Es difícil dejar de pasar este mes sin tener la oportunidad para compartirlo y festejarlo, el tiempo no pasa en vano, y debemos aplaudirnos nuestros logros y, mas aun, cuando se han sostenido durante tanto tiempo, de la manera que sea, avanzando en la medida de los posible y de las circunstancias. Mas que un recuerdo es un aventura musical que hoy persiste y se ha convertido un proyecto de vida: @fumo.artrock.

Last February 1st was the tenth anniversary of my musical project F.U.M.O. (Funerales de Una Mentee Oxidada). It is difficult to let this month pass without having the opportunity to share and celebrate it, time does not pass in vain, and we must applaud our achievements and, even more, when they have been sustained for so long, in whatever way, advancing as far as possible and the circumstances. More than a memory, it is a musical adventure that today persists and has become a life project: @fumo.artrock.

La aventura empezó con una idea que fue revolucionando mi mente y la llevé a lo mas alto que pude: una osada Exposición Poética. Logré fusionar la poesía con el diseño gráfico y la música. Aquel momento me brindó la oportunidad de cantar por primera vez con tan solo tres meses de intensa preparación bajo la tutela de @danieldedosd2 y @mariajruizby, además de tocar guitarra en público, también por primera vez. Antes de toda esta aventura yo me inicie en la música tocando el bajo eléctrico; hoy he creado mu mundo musical a través de la composición. Este proyecto me hace celebrar la música, que he sostenido durante todo este tiempo. La música me ha salvado en infinidades de ocasiones, por eso le debo tanto.

The adventure began with an idea that was revolutionizing my mind and I took it to the highest point I could: a daring Poetic Exhibition. I managed to merge poetry with graphic design and music. That moment gave me the opportunity to sing for the first time with only three months of intense preparation under the tutelage of @danieldedosd2 and @mariajruizby, in addition to playing guitar in public, also for the first time. Before all this adventure I started in music playing electric bass; today I have created my musical world through composition. This project makes me celebrate music, which I have sustained all this time. Music has saved me on countless occasions, that's why I owe it so much.

La música es increíble, practicarla le ha dado magia a mi vida, es una exploración que se ha apodera de mi. Es fantástica, porque a pesar de que muchas personas no puedan ejecutarla o no entiendan que sucede dentro de ella, la pueden percibir por el simple hecho de sentirla. La música es un lenguaje que es universal, es detenerse a sentir la creatividad envuelta en el sonido a través del ritmo y la melodía. Festejar hoy el instante en que ocurrió la exposición, me trae muchísimos recuerdos, fue un momento crucial para hacerme entender que la música esta en mi. Ese fruto es lo mas valioso que me ha quedado, lo cual agradezco muchísimo, la música ha sido mi herramienta de vida.

Music is incredible, practicing it has given magic to my life, it is an exploration that has taken hold of me. It is fantastic, because even though many people can't play it or don't understand what happens inside it, they can perceive it by the simple fact of feeling it. Music is a language that is universal, it is to stop and feel the creativity wrapped in sound through rhythm and melody. Celebrating today the moment in which the exhibition took place, brings back many memories, it was a crucial moment to make me understand that music is in me. That fruit is the most valuable thing I have left, which I am very grateful for, music has been my life tool.

Como performance de la exposición, elaboré cuatro canciones usando poesías como las letras de los temas. La exposición se realizó bajo la Dirección de Cultura de la Universidad de Oriente - Núcleo de Sucre, donde logré reunir a diferentes músicos. Difícilmente no olvidaré el apoyo de mi buen amigo Eudin Ramos (Violin) para la orquestación, donde ejecutó las obras con la Orquesta de Cámara que dirigía en ese entonces, Orquesta de Cámara Mariscal Sucre. La exposición se realizó en la Casa Cultural Ramos Sucre ubicada en Cumaná, Edo.Sucre. Venezuela.

As a performance of the exhibition, I elaborated four songs using poems as the lyrics of the themes. The exhibition was held under the Direction of Culture of the Universidad de Oriente - Núcleo de Sucre, where I managed to gather different musicians. I will hardly forget the support of my good friend Eudin Ramos (Violin) for the orchestration, where he performed the works with the Chamber Orchestra that he conducted at that time, Orquesta de Cámara Mariscal Sucre. The exhibition was held at the Casa Cultural Ramos Sucre located in Cumaná, Sucre State. Venezuela.

Muy agradecido con @danieldedosd2 (Guitarra) y @mariajruizby (Voz y coros) por todo apoyo y la fe que le imprimieron al proyecto, así como también a @orlandogonzalez (batería) por su motivación y colaboración, además, a Octavio Escalona (bajo), Hernan Fernandez (Guitarra eléctrica), y Lourdes (Cello) y a Santiago en el Violin. Con esta oportunidad que me ofreció la vida se tocaron los temas que dieron apertura a la exposición. No puedo olvidar de mencionar a @diegoaudio que hicimos todo la locura posible para grabar el audio en vivo de la presentación. @vicenteblanco estuvo a cargo de la curaduría y en en la parte audiovisual Eduardo Sucre y en la fotografía Iaranavi Navarro.

Solo puedo darle gracias a la vida, he sido muy afortunado.

I can only thank life, I have been very lucky.
