What began as a mere poetic exhibition became what is now known as F.U.M.O. (Funerals of a Rusty Mind). When I presented the musical performance that first of February 2013, the one that would open the hall, it was a real shock for the audience, it was a type of presentation that very little, or almost never, had been done in the city (Cumaná - Edo. Sucre, Venezuela), so it caused some impact. My biggest surprise at the end of the whole event was when the Director in charge of the hall told me: "it was great, prepare something with just the music and we will present it here again... but you must do it quickly". God, I only had 4 songs which was barely enough for a 25 min show, I only had the songs I had prepared for the exhibition. My face was terrified when I heard the proposal, however, I affirmed and committed myself to prepare something, it was just the consequence of the emotion of the moment. When I left it was highly complex to understand what happened that day and the commitment I had made. Crazy, it was already my second presentation, these are the photos that I share in this opportunity, this time taking off only the musical part.

That great day of the debut, an acoustic rock, experimental, with gothic airs and a sublime touch of orchestra invaded the room with great expectation. Undoubtedly, it was a great moment in my life, I was so focused that day that everything went very well, I did not think of anything else, I was not able to see the immediate future after that day. Today, writing these lines, reviewing my photographic archives, after 10 years, it seems to me that it was obvious what was going to happen next, but until this moment of remembering it to write this publication, honoring this long period, I realize how things happened: It was only the beginning of great things.

I remember that day with great pride, it was my first everything, the first time I was exposed to so many things together at the same time. I have been writing poetry since I was a child, that was the first time someone read to me, and almost a hundred people read to me, I had never sung before, and that time I was in front of that audience, with only a few months of preparation, not to mention how it was to sing and play the guitar with so many people who had no other option but to see me. Incredible, that day was extremely invasive, absolutely exposed and naked in front of friends, family, acquaintances and strangers, who until that moment knew my artistic gifts.

Finally, after falling into reality I started to think about what I could do to complete a show for at least an hour, composing other things was the foundation. I find it hard to compose at speed, my way of creating my music is not something that is so fast, at least that's how it is for me. Besides the music, I consider the visual very important, even more than the music itself, and that was the moment to start working on how to make visual music, understand the sounds, understand the concept, match it with something tangible, and things like that were going through my mind. I was able to realize two ideas and composed a couple of songs, which were performed without the orchestration because of the logistics involved.

Afiche oficial del concierto | Official poster of the concert

For this opportunity I could not miss the special participation of the Mariscal Sucre Chamber Orchestra, directed by my great friend Eudin Ramos, brother of @cesaramos. Looking for my archive images I see the poster that says Coro Sinfónico del Estado Sucre, what a surprise, I didn't remember it to be honest. They certainly gave an opening in conjunction with the orchestra, they performed Mozart's "Lacrimosa". Despite my effort, that day things did not go so well, very few people attended, the sound was moderately good, out of tune on many occasions, among other details, however, it was a great and wonderful day, unparalleled, which I remember today with much gratitude. That day began a whole adventure that persists today.
