Hive Open Mic Week 136: Let's Rock Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana (Piano Cover) | @hanselmusic

¡Hola! Esta es una semana especial para mi y el Hive Open Mic la hizo más aún con la temática: let’s rock!

El rock me ha acompañado incluso desde antes de yo tener memoria. Un los vhs que mis papás filmaban habían videos en los que estoy con mi hermano menor saltando al ritmo de guitarras eléctricas y baterías a todo dar. Cuando empecé a tocar el piano, solo quiera tocar rock, cosa que mi profesor odiaba.

Dejé de tocar piano porque me aburría tocar lo que mi profe decía y pasé a la guitarra, pero mis papás tampoco querían cómprame una guitarra eléctrica. Tiempo después gracias a una pianista que encontré en YouTube por allá en 2009 o 2008, me inspiró para volver a tocar piano, ya que ella subía sus covers de rock y metal en el piano.

Desde ahí dije que quería ser como ella, y empecé a tocar lo que me gustaba en este instrumento. El resto es historia y aquí estoy con mis covers que usualmente son canciones de rock y derivados.

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" es un éxito del Grunge, una rebeldía y marcó un momento importante en la vida musical y rockera. Por eso decidí tocar esta canción en piano, es un como un homenaje a todo lo que había querido hacer y he hecho en la música. Tocar una canción con guitarras distorsionadas y bajos y pasarla al piano es loco. Pero es lo que me gusta hacer.

En este video verán como me dejo llevar por ese sonido que me acompañará toda la vida. Hago caras, me muevo, me equivoco, cierro los ojos y nada más pasa por la mente sino solo tocar y vivir ese momento con la música y en especial el rock. Por eso pido excusas de que esta toma que decidí dejar no es perfecta, pero espero aun así les guste.

Hello! This is a special week for me and the Hive Open Mic made it even more so with this theme: let's rock!

Rock has been with me even since before I can remember. One of the vhs that my parents filmed had videos in which I am with my younger brother jumping to the rhythm of electric guitars and drums at full blast. When I started playing the piano, I just wanted to play rock, which my teacher hated.

I stopped playing the piano because I was bored playing what my teacher said and I switched to the guitar, but my parents didn't want to buy me an electric guitar either. Some time later, thanks to a pianist I found on YouTube back in 2009 or 2008, she inspired me to play the piano again, since she uploaded her rock and metal covers on the piano.

From there I said I wanted to be like her, and I began to play songs I liked on this instrument. The rest is history and here I am with my covers that are usually rock songs and derivatives.

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" is a Grunge hit, a rebellion and marked an important moment in musical and rock life. That's why I decided to play this song on the piano, it's like a tribute to everything I wanted to do and have done in music. Playing a song with distorted guitars and bass and translate it on the piano is crazy. But it's what I like to do.

In this video you will see how I get carried away by the sound that will accompany me throughout my life. I make faces, I move, I'm wrong, I close my eyes and nothing else goes through my mind but just playing and living that moment with music and especially rock. That's why I apologize for this shot I decided to share cause is not perfect, but I hope you like it anyway.
