Well, I just learned how to make this snack even though I've been buying and eating it for some years now, it was one of my favorites go-to snacks when I was in college, I often wondered how it was being made since it tasted different from the regular black eyes beans we have here. My pregnant friend motivated me to learn how to make okpa, she is in her early trimester and currently has cravings for " Okpa" Sadly we don't have it commonly sold in our area of residence which is the western part of Nigeria, while "Okpa" is common in the eastern and Southern part of Nigeria, it isn't here.
As a good friend, who also has experienced pregnancy cravings, I will need to create a post to narrate how my pregnancy cravings made me do, 🤣 Story for another day, So to help my friend, I volunteered to make it for her with her guidance, she currently can't stand the smell of booking food as well, things we go through as mothers to grow a little human inside of us, Mothers are superhumans, nothing less.
Without further ado, let's get started with the making process.
The ingredients needed to make "Okpa" are surprisingly minimal, here are the recipes
PROCESS
*Prepare your ingredient by blending the pepper, also melt the seasoning cubes.
You could decide to add, egg or smoked fish, but my madam wanted hers plane.
And my "Okpa" (Bambara Beans pudding) is ready.
You should see the excitement in my soon-to-be mother friend's eyes, she had even already started devouring the Okpa from the pot🤣, I was glad to help make her day.
I uploaded the video making part, check it out, I hope you enjoy watching, and please don't forget to leave a comment, have you tasted okpa before, how do you prepare yours? Let me know what you think
