I swear the Massive Oceanarium in Lisbon Portugal is Magnificent!!!

Oh no! This ain’t an ordinary aquarium! You’ve never been to Portugal if you haven’t visited their Oceanarium. You will be in awe, surprised, and astonished at how wonderful the ocean world has to offer.

Known as the largest aquarium in Europe. You will definitely keep coming back over and over again. This is by far the best Oceanarium in the world and my favorite part of the journey!

A must bucket list destination for an avid traveler like me, it will give you a wonderful experience worth sharing. It is my first time in Portugal and I’ve read so much great reviews about this destination. I went here with my daughter who is a toddler.

We enjoyed seeing colorful fishes from the smallest to the largest, eye-catching corals, and varieties of ecosystems in the aquatic world!

Best to visit on a boring rainy day if you want to explore beautiful indoor sights. We went here in the afternoon and It took us almost 2 hours of learning and enjoying what this oceanarium has to offer.

This Oceanarium provides a family-friendly environment for those people who are curious to see the underwater attractions in real. Best to book a ticket in advance because the queue is very long.

How to get there:

The Oceanarium is easily accessible by metro or bus. Stop at the Oriente Train station and just a 5-minute walk to arrive at the location.

What something to adore is that the biodiversity is appropriate for all ages. Truly a sophisticated interior design. Sufficient information on the fishes is provided, well-maintained facilities and the area focuses on environmental conservation which is top-notch for the majority.

Within the aquarium, you can see a huge range of sea creatures ranging from massive sharks, vividly colored fishes, close encounters with otters and penguins, and thousands of marine species.

A fascinating film about ocean life and the connection between water and mankind was playing right at the entryway. There is a special exhibit that can broaden your knowledge concerning ocean pollution and its human impact on the marine ecosystem.

Furthermore, there are tons of international restaurants nearby. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming if you wanted to unwind and take a breather.

If you are an avid photographer, social media influencer, content creator, or a vlogger, then the ideal time to book a ticket in advance is the earliest preferably in the morning to avoid the crowds with children and huge queues

What to Expect

My overall experience feels like I was diving underwater. Impressive seeing one up close and I adore every minute of my time spent here. The staff are friendly and helpful, clean and healthy environment, extremely educational and provides a very good value of money.

It left me speechless and gives me an opportunity to get to know and understand about something such as gigantic underwater creature inside that I’d never seen before. Just “WOWWW!” What a memorable lifetime and unforgettable encounter! You shouldn't miss!
