La primera vez que escuché esta canción fue aquí, en un hermoso cover en el cual el autor dijo que la canción pertenece a una película llamada Sanky Panky, al escuchar la letra, asumí que el film sería muy romántico y tierno, así se lo hice saber al cantante del cover, a lo que él respondió: ...es una película muy loca. Busqué la película, allí fue cuando supe que es de origen dominicano, llena de un humor bastante peculiar, que debo admitir (no sé por qué, pero me gusto). Es una película donde el humor exagerado suaviza las críticas sociales presentes en ella, Genaro, Chelo y Carlitos, un trío de humildes amigos quienes vivirán aventuras estrafalarias y alocadas en un suntuoso hotel.

La escena donde cantan este tema sucede en un bar, donde el protagonista está bastante triste, pero no precisamente por amor a una mujer, sino por el despecho por el sueño americano perdido. En dicha escena la protagonista canta hermosamente en dúo con el cantautor (Wason Brazoban) presente en el bar, luego supe que esa actriz (Alina Vargas) es hija del famoso merenguero Wilfrido Vargas, también caí en cuenta que esta canción fue grabada por los colombianos Morat haciéndola mucho más conocida. Ahora que escribo estas líneas, pienso en todo el valor que puede aportarnos la publicación de otro creador de contenido de Hive, cuando nos impulsa a investigar y a inspirarnos, e incluso nos ayuda con los acordes, espero hayan quedado bien Mr. E (jajaja).

The first time I heard this song was here, in a beautiful cover in which the author said that the song belongs to a movie called Sanky Panky, when I heard the lyrics, I assumed that the film would be very romantic and tender, so I let the cover singer know, to which he replied: ...it's a very crazy movie. I looked up the movie, and that's when I knew it was Dominican, full of quite peculiar humor, which I must admit (I don't know why, but I liked it). It is a movie where the exaggerated humor softens the social criticism present in it, Genaro, Chelo, and Carlitos, a trio of humble friends who will live outlandish and crazy adventures in a sumptuous hotel.

The scene where they sing this song takes place in a bar, where the protagonist is quite sad, not precisely because of his love for a woman, but because of his disappointment with the lost American dream. In this scene the protagonist sings beautifully in a duet with the singer-songwriter (Wason Brazoban) present in the bar, then I learned that this actress (Alina Vargas) is the daughter of the famous merengue singer Wilfrido Vargas, and I also realized that this song was recorded by the Colombians Morat making it much better known.
