Para esta semana el tema seleccionado es ADN, y que viene a mi mente cuando pienso en ADN musical, pues nada más y nada menos que la música de mi país. Siento que a nivel musical mi país también es rico, tenemos tantos géneros musical que alimentan nuetsra cultura, conozco algunos, otros tal vez lo descubra más adelante, sin duda el más representativo y comercial es el Joropo, donde el arpa, cuatro y maracas no se hacen esperar.

Esta interpretación que hoy les traigo la hice con el mayor de los respetos para la música venezolana, especialmente para este género musical que no es mi fuerte, sin embargo quise compartir el ADN musical más autóctono de mi país, el que más representantes internacionales posee, entre ellos grandes como Reinaldo Armas. Me atrevo a decir que es el género musical venezolano más conocida y apreciado en Venezuela, en mi caso amo más otros estilos pero me queda claro que el Joropo será la música por excelencia en la que se piense al hablar de Música venezolana.

For this week the selected theme is DNA, and what comes to my mind when I think of musical DNA, is nothing more and nothing less than the music of my country. I feel that on a musical level my country is also rich, we have so many musical genres that feed our culture, I know some, others maybe I will discover later, without a doubt the most representative and commercial is the Joropo, where the harp, cuatro and maracas are not to be expected.

This interpretation that I bring you today was made with the greatest of respect for Venezuelan music, especially for this musical genre which is not my forte, however I wanted to share the most indigenous musical DNA of my country, the one that has more international representatives, among them greats like Reinaldo Armas. I dare to say that it is the most known and appreciated Venezuelan musical genre in Venezuela, in my case I love more other styles but it is clear to me that the Joropo will be the music par excellence in which one thinks of when talking about Venezuelan music.

La canción que hoy comparto es interpretada por la estupenda Rummy Olivo a quien tuve la oportunidad de escuchar una vez, recuerdo que en esa presentación ella dijo tener neumonía y me sorprendió que su voz sonara tan bien, a veces la técnica le puede ganar a la enfermedad. Ella suele hacer un show dónde enseña a bailar el joropo según la región, fue grato disfrutar de ese momento.

Al Joropo le empecé a tomar cariño gracias a una compañera de habitación cuando vivía en Valencia, ella siempre cantaba esta canción que ahora comparto. En ese entonces tuve el placer de conocer al maraquero de Ensamble Gurrufío, Juan Ernesto Laya y poder apreciar la manera extraordinaria de su arte.

Como les dije prefiero otros géneros musicales venezolanos, pero gracias a esa experiencia pude aprender a valorar al Joropo. Como siempre digo, lo que te gusta te encuentra y la música siempre ha sabido encontrarme..

The song I share today is performed by the wonderful Rummy Olivo who I had the opportunity to listen to once, I remember that in that presentation she said she had pneumonia and I was surprised that her voice sounded so good, sometimes the technique can win over the disease. She usually does a show where she teaches how to dance the joropo according to the region, it was nice to enjoy that moment.

I became fond of the Joropo thanks to a roommate of mine when I lived in Valencia, she always sang this song that I now share with you. At that time I had the pleasure to meet Juan Ernesto Laya from Ensamble Gurrufío and to appreciate the extraordinary way of his art.

As I told you I prefer other Venezuelan musical genres, but thanks to that experience I was able to learn to appreciate Joropo. As I always say, what you like finds you and music has always been able to find me...
