Visita final del año a la estación de Fragata de FIDAES con los alumnos de la Nueva Toledo [ESP/ENG]

Esta que es la semana final del año que nos reunimos con los alumnos de la unidad educativa Nueva Toledo y así continuar con la parte práctica de su proyecto final de grado en cuanto al cultivo de mejillones es sitema flotante. Los días pautados para trabajar fueron el Lunes y hoy miércoles, todo resultó de maravilla y creo que todos resultamos complacidos con lo que hemos logrado hasta ahora, siempre hay cosas que mejorar, pero de manera general si estamos satisfecho.

This is the final week of the year that we met with the students of the Nueva Toledo educational unit to continue with the practical part of their final grade project regarding the cultivation of mussels in a floating system. The days scheduled to work were Monday and today Wednesday, everything went wonderfully and I think we are all pleased with what we have achieved so far, there are always things to improve, but in general we are satisfied.

Hola gente de la comunidad de HIVE SUCRE por aca les habla @eudarcabello y esta vez para contarle esto que fue la vista final de año a la estación de Fragata de FIDAES con los alumnos de la Nueva Toledo, lo que resultó con la instalación de su sistema flotante para el cultivo de mejillones, en este caso utilizamos la Long-line que es de los sistemas que vemos mejores resultados para la Fundación para la Investigación y Desarrollo de la Acuicultura en el Estado Sucre donde trabajo.

Hello people of the HIVE SUCRE community, this is @eudarcabello speaking and this time to tell you about the final visit of the year to the FIDAES Frigate station with the students of Nueva Toledo, which resulted in the installation of their floating system for the cultivation of mussels, in this case we used the Long-line which is one of the systems that we see better results for the Foundation for Research and Development of Aquaculture in the State of Sucre where I work.

Para el lunes solo vinieron tres de los estudiantes y la reoresentante que suele venir con ellos, una de las chicas siempre suele venir y el chico tambien, llego una chica que creo vino a una de las actividades previas, logramos terminar de armar los sistemas de flotación con las boyas pesqueras, para ese día vinimos un buen número de trabajadores de la institución para apoyar al máximo y lograr los objetivos. Ha sido nuevamente y capaz en recuento de actividades mas frecuente esta poca asistencia, seguro sus razones tienen al final el conocimiento en teoria lo tienen con una presentación previa a todas estas actividades prácticas.

For Monday only three of the students came and the reoresentante who usually comes with them, one of the girls always comes and the boy also, a girl who I think came to one of the previous activities, we managed to finish assembling the flotation systems with the fishing buoys, for that day we came a good number of workers of the institution to support the maximum and achieve the objectives. It has been again and able in count of activities more frequent this little attendance, surely their reasons have at the end the knowledge in theory they have it with a presentation previous to all these practical activities.

Me sorprendió un poco para esta actividad final al llegar con el profesor de ellos solo vimos a una de las chicas que ha venido a actividades previa, no estaba la chica y el chico que no faltan. Resultó que fue por transporte y llegaron la chica que no falta junto a su representante, otras dos y un chico, el cual no es el que ha estado presente en todas las anteriores, así que segui un poco sorprendido, pero trabajamos los que estábamos y esta vez los dos chicos que faltaron, se perdieron la experiencia de la instalación de la Long-line, ya que son siete estudiantes los que estan en este proyecto.

I was a little surprised for this final activity to arrive with the teacher of them we only saw one of the girls who has come to previous activities, was not the girl and the boy who is not missing. It turned out that it was for transportation and arrived the girl who is not missing along with her representative, two others and a boy, which is not the one who has been present in all the previous ones, so I was still a little surprised, but we worked those who were and this time the two boys who were missing, missed the experience of the installation of the Long-line, since there are seven students who are in this project.

Para esta actividad si bien vinieron más estudiantes de los que suelen venir para las actividades, eran mas espectadores, pero definitivamente cuentan con los conocimientos y parte de la experiencia de la instalación de la Long-line. El profesor de la Nueva Toledo les hacia preguntas a ver si ha servido el tiempo que han trabajado con nosotros y le supieron responder bien, asi que creo que por lo menos en lo que se planeo en este año se logró con exito. Sigo viendo motivación, seguramente los que faltan o cuando faltan son por situaciones fuera de su control y espero haya mejor comunicación en esos casos para el próximo año, ya no tendran que venir tan seguido como estas últimas actividades.

For this activity, even though more students came than usual for the activities, they were more spectators, but they definitely have the knowledge and some of the experience of the installation of the Long-line. The teacher from Nueva Toledo asked them questions to see if the time they have worked with us has been useful and they were able to answer him well, so I think that at least what was planned for this year was achieved successfully. I continue to see motivation, surely those who are absent or when they are absent are due to situations beyond their control and I hope there will be better communication in those cases for next year, they will not have to come as often as these last activities.

Aún faltaría proceder a la siembra, monitoreo mensual y cosecha de mejillones, es un trabajo fuerte y espero mejore la asistencia y vuelvan con el mismo entusiasmo que al inicio a lo que falta de su proyecto, el compañero y tambien Licenciado en Biología es el responsable como tutor y yo una vez finalizado el trabajo practico y mientras se esté engordando los mejillones, debemos pasar a la parte escrita del proyecto, yo sería el apoyo al no llevar ni un año en la institución o no tener tanto como Licenciado en Biología es lo mejor, tampoco creo que lo mío sea la docencia, al igual que no creía lo mío fuera el área marina y siento pago todos mis karmas en esta institución, hasta estoy pensando hacer post grado en Biología Marina, así que espero colaboren y no den tanto trabajo, ya que para marzo inicio si me decido.

I still have to proceed with the sowing, monthly monitoring and harvesting of mussels, it is a hard work and I hope the attendance improves and they come back with the same enthusiasm as at the beginning of their project, the companion and also Bachelor in Biology is responsible as a tutor and once the practical work is finished and while the mussels are fattening, we must move on to the written part of the project, I would be the support as I have not been in the institution for even a year or not having so much as a Bachelor in Biology is the best, I do not believe that my thing is teaching, just as I did not believe that my thing was the marine area and I feel I pay all my karmas in this institution, I am even thinking of doing postgraduate in Marine Biology, so I hope you collaborate and do not give so much work, because for March I start if I decide.

He hecho posts anteriormente sobre mi trabajo en FIDAES que si la cosecha y venta de mejillones, la participación del semillero científico para las escuelas y ahora para estudiantes finalizando su bachillerato donde serviremos como tutores en sus proyectos con cultivo de mejillones, también la presentaciones a comunidades y dos de ellas ya estan cultivando mejillones en acuerdo con nuestra institución, otra cosa que considero súper importantes es el webinar para dar a conocer nuestra institución a nivel nacional y hasta internacional con la Asociación Venezolana de Acuicultores y todas las presentaciones en cuanto a PowerPoint me han tocado hacerlas y en su mayoria hasta presentarlas, para el caso del Webinar si estuvo el presidente, la directora y el técnico Sergio Bruce quienes expusieron y nuestra directora para una de las comunidad fué quien presentó lo que hice en PowerPoint de camarones. De irle bien a este post de seguro traeré más contenido de estos temas, porque creanme que vienen cosas buenas y con suerte hasta se involucren con HIVE y hasta acepte HBD como pago a nuestros productos.

I have previously made posts about my work in FIDAES that if the harvest and sale of mussels, the participation of the scientific seedbed for schools and now for students finishing their high school where we serve as tutors in their projects with mussel farming, also the presentations to communities and two of them are already cultivating mussels in agreement with our institution, Another thing that I consider very important is the webinar to publicize our institution nationally and even internationally with the Venezuelan Association of Aquaculturists and all presentations in terms of PowerPoint I have had to make them and mostly to present them, for the case of the Webinar if the president, the director and the technician Seguio Bruce who exposed and our director for one of the community was who presented what I did in PowerPoint shrimp. If this post goes well I will surely bring more content on these topics, because believe me good things are coming and hopefully even get involved with HIVE and even accept HBD as payment for our products.
