Emocionado de retomar este viaje al pasado de los videojuegos. El popular Popeye de los 8 bits de la Nes ocupa un gran lugar en mi corazón. Este era uno de los personajes que más admiraba cuando era un niño. Era fan de sus caricaturas y sus aventuras. Este es otro clásico de Arcade y trasladado a la Nes en los años de su lanzamiento. Tal como los videojuegos Arcade no había una historia o trama para avanzar en el juego.

^{Excited to resume this journey into the past of video games. The popular Popeye from the 8-bit Nes holds a big place in my heart. This was one of the characters I admired the most when I was a kid. I was a fan of his cartoons and adventures. This is another Arcade classic and ported to the Nes in the years of its release. Just like the Arcade video games there was no story or plot to advance in the game.}

Como no recordar esa gran serie de televisión que forma parte de nuestra niñez. Hoy al jugar Popeye llegaron a mí muchos recuerdos y sobre todo cuando vuelvo a escuchar esa legendaria canción de Popeye que te hacía tararear y se quedaba en la mente mientras y luego de jugarlo. Me agradó recordar a Olivia o a Bluto. Personajes que junto a Popeye estuvieron en miles de fiestas infantiles, cuadernos para el colegio o cualquier afiche pegado en el clóset del cuarto (como era en mi caso 😂)

^{How not to remember that great TV series that is part of our childhood. Today when I played Popeye many memories came to me and especially when I hear again that legendary Popeye song that made you hum and stayed in your mind while and after playing it. I was pleased to remember Olivia or Bluto. Characters that together with Popeye were in thousands of children's parties, school notebooks or any poster stuck in the closet of the room (as it was in my case).}

No tiene mucha lógica el videojuego. Trataremos de recolectar los objetos que nos lanzará Olivia para poder llegar a liberarla del gran acosador de Bluto. Ahora si crees que recolectar por ejemplo los corazones que nos lanza Olivia en el primer nivel ven e inténtalo pero recuerda que nos encontramos con Bluto quien intentará por todos los medios evitar que pueda rescatar a su Amanda Olivia. Este videojuego no hay armas pero sin embargo puedes utilizar tus grandes músculos para darle un gran golpe a Bluto y mandarlo a volar. Por supuesto, recuerda primero llevarlo a comer su famosa espinaca.

^{The video game does not have much logic. We will try to collect the objects that Olivia will throw at us to be able to free her from Bluto's great stalker. Now if you think that collecting for example the hearts that Olivia throws at us in the first level come and try it but remember that we are with Bluto who will try by all means to prevent us from rescuing his Amanda Olivia. This video game there are no weapons but you can however use your big muscles to give Bluto a big punch and send him flying. Of course, remember to first take him to eat his famous spinach.}

Mirando hacia atrás, como es lo que hacemos en estos vuelos, podemos notar que hay una gran serie de títulos que fueron llevados del Arcade a las consolas domésticas como en este caso la Nes. Gran mayoría de su primera lista de videojuego es como el que presentamos hoy. Sencillos por su jugabilidad pero con un toque de complejidad. Perfecto para pasar un rato mientras le damos una vez más vida a ese niño que llevamos por dentro.

Por otro lado, me he divertido mucho jugando hoy este clásico videojuego y espero que también haya sido de su agrado este hermoso paseo al pasado de los videojuegos.
