Estudiando un montuno cubano - Studying a Cuban Montuno

Bendiciones para todos los hivefriends, hoy quise mostrarle un poco de mi rutina de estudio diario en el piano, en este caso estoy practicando un poco de música cubana, la cual es compleja por el alto uso de síncopa.

Blessings to all the * hivefriends *, today I wanted to show you a bit of my daily study routine at the piano, in this case I am practicing some Cuban music, which is complex due to the high use of syncopation.

Para mí el aspecto más complejo y delicado de este tipo de música es el uso de la clave, la cual trata de las acentuaciones que crea el sonido particular de ella; este punto es bastante complejo, y he dedicado tiempo de estudio para entenderlo, aunque como todo, debo seguir haciéndolo pues aún falta mucho para conseguir dominarlo como quiero.

For me, the most complex and delicate aspect of this type of music is the use of the clef, which deals with the accents that its particular sound creates; This point is quite complex, and I have devoted time to study to understand it, although like everything else, I must continue to do so because there is still a long way to go to master it as I want.

Existen formas de entender la clave cubana desde el punto técnico, lo cual deseo compartir un post dedicado específicamente a eso más adelante, sin embargo, la mejor forma de conocerla, es escuchando mucha música de este tipo, de esta manera conseguiremos que ejecutarla sea algo natural y no técnico.

There are ways to understand the Cuban clave from a technical point of view, which I want to share a post specifically dedicated to that later on, however, the best way to get to know it is by listening to a lot of music of this type, in this way we will make executing it something natural and non-technical.

Durante esta rutina de estudio, empleé un ciclo armónico de cuatro acordes (Am, D7, Bm7b5 y E7) y con ellos intento realizar variados montunos, buscando mantener la acentuación natural de la clave, sin embargo, también como parte del estudio intento desplazar dicha acentuación, manteniendo la clave interna que me permita volver a ella de manera sencilla. Esto puede resultar un poco complejo, sin embargo, con estudio poco a poco se logra la libertad necesaria para hacerla con gusto y sin rigidez.

During this study routine, I used a harmonic cycle of four chords (Am, D7, Bm7b5 and E7) and with them I try to perform various montunos, seeking to maintain the natural accentuation of the key, however, also as part of the study I try to displace said accentuation, keeping the internal key that allows me to return to it in a simple way. This can be a bit complex, however, with study little by little the necessary freedom is achieved to do it with taste and without rigidity.
