    Sonata No. 1 in G minor, BWV 1001 by Juan Sebastian Bach. Composed in 1720, the Sonatas and Partitas for violin solo are a set of six pieces, including three sonatas, each composed of four movements, with an alternation of slow-fast-fast tempo and a fugue as the second movement. In the same period, Bach composed the famous Brandenburg Concertos, the Double Concerto for Violin in D Minor and the Suites for Solo Cello. Yehudi Menuhin recorded this work in its entirety for the first time in the 1930s.

Compuestas en 1720, las Sonatas y Partitas para violín solo son un conjunto de seis piezas, incluidas tres sonatas, compuestas cada una por cuatro movimientos, con una alternancia de tempo lento-rápido-lento-rápido-y una fuga como segundo movimiento. En ese mismo período, Bach compone los famosos Conciertos de Brandeburgo, el Doble concierto para violín en re menor y las Suites para violonchelo solo.
