Esta semana hablaremos de "Work of True Love." y es que una obra de amor verdadero es todo lo que se hace con mucha constancia, disciplina, bondad y alegría. Cuando realizamos una obra de amor verdadero es cuando nos desprendemos de nuestros egos y ayudamos a nuestro prójimo de manera desinteresada. En el caso de la música, la mayor parte de las veces uno lo hace por el amor que se siente hacia este maravilloso arte, en mi caso lo hago porque quiero proyectar la maravillosa música que existe en mi país, como es el caso de esta hermosa canción que te presento esta semana, se trata de un aguinaldo titulado Niño Jesús de merey, del compositor Leonel Ruíz.

El merey es un fruto seco que se consume en Venezuela, tambien es conocido como cayú, nuez de la India, anacardo, merey, cajú, castaña de cajú, marañón, cajuil, caguil o pepa

El aguinaldo es una evolución del villancico europeo. En Venezuela existe gran variedad de géneros musicales y uno de ellos es el aguinaldo, que se canta o se toca de manera instrumental siempre en la época decembrina. Hay dos tipos de aguinaldo, el aguinaldo de parranda y el aguinaldo religioso. En los pueblos es muy bonito ver las trtadiciones vivas cuando se cantan aguinaldos frente al pesebre o al arbol de navidad.

Las misas de aguinaldo celebran entre el 16 y el 24 de diciembre, las personas van desde muy temprano en la madrugada a la iglesia para estas misas en donde se le canta al niño Dios, en la religión cristiana.

Aguinaldo muy famosos son por ejemplo: Niño lindo , La jornada (din din din), Nació el redentor, De contento, A adorar al niño, Corre caballito, Casta paloma, Fuego al cañon, Mi burrito sabanero y muchos más.
