    About :

    ENG:

    A cordial musical greeting.
Today I present this song entitled Mujer Divina by Hector Rivera and recorded by the group of the famous percussionist Joe Cuba.

Gilberto Miguel Calderón Cardona, known artistically as Joe Cuba (New York, April 22, 1931 - New York, February 15, 2009) was an American Latin jazz singer and percussionist, of Puerto Rican origin, who received the nickname of "Father of Boogaloo".

In Afro Antillean music there have been countless men and women whose work has left an indelible mark on the music scene and who have written history with their talent and personal effort; names such as Mario Bauza, Rafael Cortijo, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Héctor Lavoe, Frank Grillo "Machito", among an immense list, are recognized as institutions - or legends if you will - in the historical journey of the music of our peoples.

But in the shadow of these great figures is the work of other titans, musicians among musicians, loved and respected by their colleagues, but who for different circumstances did not have an effective commercial backing and their work was relegated without being known by the general public; a work that like the treasures of the Spanish galleons was hidden, but for the fortune of music lovers, has been recovered little by little.

One of these hidden geniuses is Maestro Héctor Rivera, an excellent pianist, composer, arranger and orchestra conductor, born in Manhattan in 1933 in a family of Puerto Rican descent; his father and mother, both from Puerto Rico, were passionate about music, hence Héctor's interest in this cultural expression.
Enjoy my interpretation of this song with a Latin flavor.
