The Gears God has returned ⚙️

If you have never played a Gears of War game before, you are sleeping so heavily on the most goretastic third-person multiplayer game of all-time. Imagine combining Unreal Tournament with your darkest dreams. The original Gears of War game blew my mind when it came out on Xbox 360 back in November of 2006. I had never played a game quite like it and still have yet to find anything that is equal.

My new gaming goal was to bounce in and out of cover and get close enough to pop my enemy's head with a Gnasher shotgun. If that wasn't your thing, you also had the option of firing up the chainsaw attached to your Lancer assault rifle to shred anything in your path in the most gruesome manner.

Gears was the most graphically advanced game that I had played back in those early 360 days. Plus the gameplay was addicting and something new for once. Since it all started, there have been other releases that have allowed the series to continually evolve. Gears 2, 3, Judgement, 4, and most recently 5. Gears 5 is what I will be playing in today's video.

It has been several years since I last played a Gears of War game heavily. Judgment was the last Gears game that I actually owned, which came out in 2013. I was into that for about 7 or 8 months and then the next-gen consoles came out. I picked up a PS4 and haven't owned an Xbox since. I briefly played Gears 4 for a couple of days when it launched in 2016, but I never owned it.

I can say without a doubt, it has been over 5 years since I last played Gears. I've been missing Gears and my skills have gathered quite a bit of dust thanks to my lack of play. Luckily I have not forgotten how to pop heads and am ready to get back into this game. I wouldn't have the opportunity to play this without Xbox Cloud Gaming.
