    About :

Poor Mittens is in the spotlight again this week as our one-ball-wonder has discovered the opposite sex and has been driving us, our neighbours, and every one five blocks away absolutely bonkers with his cat calling at all hours of the night. It is a rather unusual thing to be asking for your money back, so I'm trying to negotiate with the SPCA that I can bring him back for them to attend to the fuzzball they missed.

There is very little we can do to control him right now, so he's sharing lockdown quarters with a very grumpy Lexi, who we've now recaptured for a third time as her other family has finally moved out. Hopefully, she'll stay home after this round of lockup. Who knows.

Luckily, both our girls have been spayed, otherwise, we'd have a whole litter of stinky little fur balls to worry about! Gorgeous kittens but still... no. Bad Claire :p

I've tried launching pillows at him and spraying near him with deodorant (the sound is very effective) but I think the hormones are pretty much involuntary and all-consuming at times. You know? When pussy calls...… pussy must answer.... meow...🐱🐈

MewMew the neighbourhood tomcat (yes, I know he's SO floofy, you should see his tail!)

So for now, these bed buddies will have to tolerate each other while we try to keep mittens out of trouble. He is fighting MewMew (the ENORMOUS boy from next door) and has had some nasty chunks taken out of him, but his relentless hunt for a mate is what has us most worried as it has him wondering out of the gate. I may moan about him a lot, but his squint doff ass has really grown on us, and losing him would be an unfathomable tragedy, especially since we already lost Chai this year: who was basically still a kitten himself.

So @aimeludick and I will play cat tennis, as summer descends upon us and our west-facing home gets smothered in afternoon sun - which is incredible for releasing aromas from the litter boxes. So cat tennis is not as horrific as it sounds, it just means we have the cat/s swap rooms when one of us can't breathe anymore.

Dearest Squeek has just been an absolute model of good behaviour and has turned into the most lovely, well behaved and affectionate house cat. SWhe takes no crap from Mittens and swipes him when he tries to bully her, but other than that, she's always on time for dinner, comes for cuddles, and is generally just a pleasure. This is also why I once again don't have any photos of her this week. It's always the naughty children that end up in the spotlight! Right @zakludick? I think I owe poor Squeek a post dedicated just to her and her perfect little beans.

Let's see next week, shall we?
