Hello there, my fellow musicians and music lovers!

After a day of reading at the FILVen, I came back next morning to watch the books from afar. They were quite pricey, but amidst this terrible event, I went back into the house of my namesake and poet Andrés Eloy Blanco to find out there was a poetry reading with music. Also, since I haven't walked around the house in years, I had forgotten this place is a musical place. There are 2 pianos here. That also means this was a family with money. The house is quite big and it's in Bolivar' Square. Since the Government Palace was also located here, only a really important and wealthy family could afford to have a house here and keep it. Nowadays, it's a museum.

I have talked about the relationship between these forms of art before. Language gets thrown in the mix since music is a language on itself. It's just that its code tends to be a lot of max and hierarchies. However, I sat there for a while to listen to some of the recital. It was awesome. So much in fact that I had to record some of it and show it to you.

Of course, it is in Spanish. There are not so many people who recite poetry in other languages in Cumaná. And if there, we would be the same people in the room to appreciate what's being said.

The idea of reciting with music is interesting. Might try it out someday. Maybe a pianist friend of mine would love the idea of playing something while I recite some poetry. We shall see. The idea of having a musical rhythm that goes at the same pace of language is certainly a fine idea to explore and see what comes out of it.

The first poem you're listening too is called Florinda en Invierno. It is a sonnet that gives you an image of love through seasons as stages in life. It has a grim ending since the character named Florinda let love slip during Autumn and it never came back. The second comes as a monologue about unrequited love. It makes allusions to the scenery of the Venezuelan Plains. Fittingly, there's a mention towards the about music pouring out of a guitar like water from a spring.
