Using the Asteroid feature on my Mavic 2 pro

Another day and another learning curve to navigate.
Last week @ksteem took up my challenge to write a post for #beersaturday and I have to say that he put in a steerling effort. In addition to this @ksteem took the opportunity to pass the baton back to me with a challenge to create a post for the drone community. Smart move.

It's great to have someone encouraging me to get more practice with my drone because I certainly need it. And so, off I trot with my Mavic 2 pro to some local spots that offer plenty of space. I required the extra room due to the chosen feature I was going to use.

Asteroid Mode

Asteroid mode is a great feature offered to many DJI drone users and it's something I have been chomping at the bit to use. It's an easy mode and once you've positioned your drone and chosen your subject it a quick press of the button and the drone then takes over to do the rest.

As I said, I visited 2 locations today and achieved my goal. The video featured here on 3speak is my favourite of the 2 I shot due to the watery location which helped add an ocean like finish to the world I created using the Asteroid feature. Next task was to go home and transfer the files in a way that I could show them on Hive. At first I tried to use Giphy but soon found out that Giphy reduce the image quality so much that it spoils my efforts. So, I now have the problem of wanting to post 2 separate videos but no known way of doing so. I could stich the two videos together and have one play straight after the other but that's isn't ideal. Now my options are limited and I really don't like using YouTube, which would have enable me to create 2 separate video and add them to one Hive post. In the end I decided to uplaod my favourite video of the two I made today and upload it to 3speak. As for the other video I will just have to add the giphy link I made earlier, but at least that will serve as a demonstration as to how much quality difference there is between the two.

If anyone out there knows of any software I can use to create small videos and add them to a post on hive, that would be greatly appreciated. I did notice that 3speak have the option of creating a post without adding it to your Hive blog. I guess I could create to 3speak videos without adding them to my blog and then create a separate post on Hive and add my videos to that? Sounds like a lot of hastle but maybe it's the only way.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the short Asteroid video. Personally, I love the images this feature creates and depending on your surrounding the possibilties are infinite. I have seen some of these images that were taken near tall skyscraper buildings and the end results were brilliant due to the way the buildings appeared to poke out from the perimeter of the globe.
