Este Domingo 09 de Abril del año 2023, se jugó la jornada nueve de la primera división del Fútbol Profesional Venezolano, entre Monagas Sport Club y Portuguesa Fútbol Club, a partir de las 8:00 de la noche en el Estadio Monumental de Maturín.
Asimismo, el cuadro local formó con cuatro juveniles, con la finalidad de ir rotando y descansando a jugadores, luego del encuentro contra Club Atlético Boca Juniors por la Copa Libertadores.
De igual modo, los rojinegros, llegaban a este choque tras perder en condición de local frente al Deportivo Táchira Fútbol Club por la mínima diferencia.
